Dear Fellow Travelers:

Thank you for welcoming me in this special group.

Thank you also for your kind and encouraging  words

..

In my first letter I mentioned having difficulty with Novartis regarding

Gleevec.

I am very grateful to them to giving me this drug for almost five years and

It would be very inconsiderate of me to malign them in any way.

It is  not that they didn't continue their generosity but the way it was done

that was so upsetting.

No letter explaining their decision, only a short answer to my inquiry that I

would be " out " after the next two shipments.  You can imagine what grief this

has caused us.  It was only later that they suggested I should contact PSI.  PSI

has called this week and said that I am approved for the next three years.

Hallelujah!

I had asked to speak to the manager or supervisor of Novartis to no avail.  I

certainly did not have the $40,000 that Zavie mentioned was the maximum income

one could have.

Well I will put it behind me and think maybe  they need the money for research

or  perhaps they think I have had enough help for one lifetime.  It was,

however, a sad time for my wife and for me.  We were devastated.

Anyhow once again thanks  to everyone in this wonderful group . I have already

learned so much.

Your encouragement is great and you are  so kind to everybody.  We didn't want

to be part of such a group ,.

but  " 'c'est la vie , " Let's try to put a good face on it and march forward.'

I do not know how to thank  every one of you individually  for your kind

messages, especially Lottie and Zavie

for their helpful messages.
