Guest guest
Hi , my son has elevated T's and B's and is also immune deficient (CVID). He has concurrent autoimmune diseases along with his immune deficiency, has been diagnosed with ALPS (autoimmune lymphoproliferative syndrome), autoimmune enteritis and colitis. The doctors call the whole shebang 'global immune dysregulation' if we want a term that covers it all. one doctor gave me a helpful analogy - he compared my son's problems with a big apartment building whose heating-cooling system is off. some apartments are so hot you have to keep the windows open in january and others are stone cold. This has helped me to understand how someone can be immune deficient and autoimmune at the same time. hope some of this helps! Someone told me it was more indicative of autoimmune than immune deficiency......but I can't find much on this.
