I've been thinking about starting to keep a log, even though I know it's

probably after the fact, but of Tristen's illness's, symptoms, length and

meds that she's on. How do you keep your logs? Right now I have everything

in my outlook calendar, but I think I would like something more accessible.

Any suggestions would be great!!

Thanks,

le

---I keep a health journal on my wordperfect. Once a week or so, I

just bring up each kids file and put in any illnesses that week, what

dr was seen, what I did for it, what meds were given, how long it took

to get over it. For instance, I might write, " 11-24, Brennan woke thru

the night w/ very tight coughing and wheezing. Gave xopenex as needed

thru the night " and if that is all, then that record is done. But if

two days later, he suddenly gets sicker, then it will go on, " 11-26,

Brennan is still getting short of breath, still coughing, xopenex

every four hours, and has lots of green coming out of his nose " .

Our drs have told me this is really, really helpful(esp since my

memory isnt the greatest, esp with 4 asthma kids, 3 w/ cvid)If I

relied only on my memory, Id mess up a lot. Its important with cvid

kids that we have an accurate timeline of how they initially got sick,

what was done, what didnt work, etc.

I also always enter days they got something different, like say, which

days they got a flu shot. Or if there was an allergic reaction to a med.

Then on appt days, I just print it out and hand it to the dr:) it

makes appts easier.
