I think I can put up with a little rash better that I can put up with a return of my pain. When I was taking just mtx and Bextra, I still had a lot of pain, especially in my knees. My pain is virtually nonexistent now! I think that Arava ranks right up there with prednisone. It's time for bloodwork this week, so when I call my endo about that, I'll mention the rash to him. Thanks for the input. Sue in NC
Guest guest
Hi, I went to the derm. for the butterfly rash as the " wonderful " rheumy I used at the time said it was rosacea....He gave me a salve....Nothing changed. After being on Mino for many months the rash disappeared. Every now and then if I am very upset and usually working on the computer (LOL), the rash will reappear...but for only a very short while. AP will do the trick...I sincerely mean that. Guest guest
Annette, I have Dermatomyositis, skin rash part of disease. I found aloe vera gel(store bought or right from the plant) was very soothing. Also, a lotion by Aveenol was nice as well. You can get it plain or with calamine in it to help sooth the itch. Gold bond lotion in the yellow bottle worked okay on other parts of me, but was just a bit harsh on the face. Guest guest
-Hi, Do you have your daughter on other supplements? I had this exact problem and it turned out that my daughter could no longer handle (ie no longer needed) the high dose of vitamin B she was on. We cut back and would up cutting out her SNT entirely and she was fine. I believe the enzymes help the body absorb so many more vitamins and nutrients that other supplements can become overkill. We have since added back in the tiniest dose of TMG which is effective. Guest guest
Hi & welcome to our group:Have you been leaving the helmet off at all? If the rash is not going away, even w/the cortisone, you may want to keep the helmet off her for a little while. It's not a red spot from the band is it? how old is your daughter? What type of helmet is she wearing? Guest guest
Hi , Welcome to the group! I agree w/everything Debbie has already told you. Also you can ask your ortho about adding moleskin to your daughter's band. > My daughter has had her helmet about a week and she has developed a > rash on the side of her face. Guest guest
Thanks for the advice! The ortho didn't think it was a rubbing spot. We've left the helmet off for about 2 days and it is getting better, but hasn't completely disappeared. The ortho didn't recognize the " rash " and stated several times that it wasn't a rub spot. She said we might have to put a nylon " sock " over her head, under the helmet. Does that have a different effect than the moleskin? Morgen is 7 1/2 months old and has a Starband. She has adjusted to it so well, we were amazed! It's been a disappointment to have to take the helmet off and then have to wean her back into it. Thanks again for the suggestions! > > My daughter has had her helmet about a week and she has developed a > > rash on the side of her face. Guest guest
> hello everyone: my son always has a rash on his hips and buttocks. > raised red bumps or pimples. i think it may be yeast related For my #3 son, it can be yeast, or a food or supplement he does not tolerate, or too much or too little of a supplement. So, you can try treating for yeast, especially if he has other yeast symptoms. http://www.danasview.net/yeast.htm Good luck. Dana
Guest guest
Hi Tina, I'm a Tina too. My 8 yr old son gets (pimply) bumps on his butt cheeks and the back of the upper arms (triceps), and very occassionally, small, little bumps on his face cheeks. His face bumps are more like sand feeling, not so big or red like the others. I can't figure it out if it's a nutrient deficiency or food intolerance. He got them before we started biomedical intervention so I don't think it's overdosing of a supplement. Maybe like you said, it could be yeast. We just keep piecing the puzzle together. Good Luck. Guest guest
Hi I would try giving CLO and see if this helps the rash. I read in " Mastering Autism " that a person should/or can take up to five teaspoons of Cod Liver Oil per day until the rash disappears. I assume you are talking about what a lot of folks refer to as " chicken skin. " Ann
Guest guest
We also had the bumps on my son's cheeks, upper arms and upper legs. We started using the Coromega Omega -3 fish oil supplement from Kirkmans and within 2 weeks he no longer had them. It comes in a little packet like pudding and has an orangey taste that is easy to mix into applesauce or juice for that matter. We've used it for over a year and when we run out I notice that they start coming back. Good luck. Re: rash Hi Tina, I'm a Tina too. Guest guest
-- is he on the dmps right now, or was that a week ago or so? if this is happening while he is on the dmps right now, then I would say " caution " ... if it starts showing up as redness in his mouth or on his lips, or his eyes getting weepy/conjunctivitis, then you definitely need to stop using it. My son had the redness in his mouth/lips first and THEN we noticed the red bumps on his skin, and so basically this was an allergic reaction called erythema multiforme, which is what happens before s Syndrome. But if this is happening on the week or two off of the dmps, then it might be what some call a " mercury rash " . Hi , I got a lot of rashes while I was chelating. I also have a long history of allergic rashes. At the time (when I was chelating) I kept reporting that I didn't know if the rashes were related to chelating (I was having them more often than the prior year, but since I have had varying degrees and frequencies of rashes ANYWAY it was hard to tell). I now think it was related since I have gone back to much less problem with rashes (after stopped chelating). There has been a lot of discussion of " mercury rashes " , and I am not clear if all (or even most) of the rashes are " similar " (in looks size feeling). Anyway, it seems to be a common theme. I don't know if this helps! Oh--- I recently tried a product called " miracle rash repair " and am finding it VERY effective for itching. (Active ingredients are aloe and dead sea salt). I got it from Rite-Aid or Walgreens or something like that. good wishes, Moria

Otherwise it might be an ingredient in the enzymes. Is the Zyme Prime the SCD version? Or it might be detox, or a reaction to a food he eats which he does not tolerate, even with the enzymes. Or viral die off. Dana
Guest guest
Hi , Last night, I had a similar experience. I had just brushed my teeth with a new toothpaste containing grapefruit seed extract. ten minutes later, I start to get a pain in my stomach. i also started breaking out in red bumps-under my arms, between legs and on the palms of my hands. They itched horribly so took some Benadryl. I kept thinking it must be the enzymes (on HNI ZP). It wasn't until this morning, when I looked at the toothpaste, that I made the connection. Anyway, I'm sure it's die-off. I'm going to gradually add the GSE into my diet via drops in glass of water. Also, continuing with the enzymes. After giggling for a few weeks, I know I'm finally getting some yeast out of my system. Take care,
