Guest guest
Thanks Dana. I had the word toxicity on my brain b/c I had just been reading on your site about it. LOL I was meaning specifically if a rash could be caused by the chelation. While he does take Vit A (CLO) he's been at higher doses than he currently is and been ok, so I suspect it's the chelation this time. I could be wrong. I will keep an eye on it and see if it changes. Guest guest
>>I was meaning specifically if a > rash could be caused by the chelation. I have read that it can. Sometimes it is a reaction to the chelator [cream/TD are common for this problem], sometimes it is yeast, and sometimes it is for other reasons. Guest guest
Hi - Madison had the sideburn rash. I have found that washing the helmet with baby soap works. Also, apply some hydrocortizone to the infected area, that really clears the rash up. Lastly, I have been putting a very slim piece of cotton in the helmet which covers the parts that irritate her face. I use double sided tape to keep the cotton in place and then I apply a lot of cornstarch. This process has worked wonders. Guest guest
Hi Debbie, My 7 yo had the same sort of rash that can also be helped sometimes with creams, but it returns for him by ingesting wheat/gluten. Avoiding wheat and gluten is the only thing that allows him to stop it completely. Is your CLO gluten free? What about her diet? We found the wheat allergy with a blood test at my son's gastroenterologist. Hope this helps, Joni In a message dated 7/17/2007 6:25:13 A.M. The rash does not continue between the cheeks. Her doctor gave me a cortisone-based cream, which indeed cleared it up, but it keeps coming back (and I really don't want to keep putting cotisone on her!!!!!). My husband wonders if it could be the enzymes (zyme prime or peptizyde) or the CLO that she takes daily. I wonder if it isn't something else (yeast, viral)??? Any thoughts? Guest guest
Hi Lily, some redness that fades when the band is off can be normal. My daughter's head was always pink/red where the band was holding her growth. in her case that was on the sides since she had brachy. It wasn't rashy or irritated looking, and if faded while the band was off (though not completely). Also she had heat rash a few times in the side burn area when it was hot and she was sweaty. for this we used some hydrocortizone cream rubbed in and dried before replacing the band. This was only a few times, and you don't want to use hydrocortizone daily. Other than that I don't think a rash is normal. Guest guest
I'm not sure what kind of band you have - but we had a hanger and it took a bit for the fit to be right - and it was a bit loose in the beginning but she grew into it in about a week - Thier heads grow so fast! As far as rash - if there is a "pressure" mark - like when you cross your legs for awile and it is red - but it doesn;t go away after an hour - then the band needs to be adjusted. If it is just irritated like a heat rash - try hydrocortizone cream - but don't let it get angry - Take the band off for a break every now and then. And CALL THE ORTHO! They need to be aware of everything that is happening so that they can give you thier advice on what to do. Guest guest
Krista, I used to get a heated rash after getting out of the shower... I never got this prior to implants... I wonder if you maybe coming sensitive to the chlorine in your water and soaps being used... Even though you have not changed soaps, you maybe coming sensitive to the chemicals... I used this soap called goats milk soap, bought at meijer, walmart, etc... It is all natural soap... Try to stop all chemical products... Use more natural soap and try olive oil instead of lotion... I did this for a while and it stopped after explant... I used to get a rash, hard to tell if the same in the picture you sent, but looked similar, except mine was more on my chest and face... They do sell something you can put on your shower to filter chlorine, I never could afford it so I did the Epsom salt baths, which seemed to work... I do think implants is the culprit, since systemic illness we usually become highly sensitive to chemical products, that prior to implants we could use no problem, after implants we have to steer clear. Guest guest
Krista to me it looks a little like you shaved and used maybe a razor that sat on the tub and could have got a little icky. I swear that has happened to me before. Alergic reaction to soap you shaved with maybe. Have you started using any new soaps or bubble bath or anything that you could be sensitive to. I would put hydrocortizone on it and it will probably go away soon. Stress can also make us get skin rashes out of the blue. Guest guest
Krista,I'd try to think of what may have caused it . . . Have you worn anything different than usual that makes contact in that area? Are the red areas raised, or lower than the rest of your skin? Since so many things are fungal with us, you might try using some jock itch ointment for a few days to see if it helps. . . . If it's itchy, you may want to put caldryl (I don't know how to spell it) lotion on it. The main thing is to avoid an infection. . . Guest guest
There is something called a "crystal ball" that you can put in your tub for a few minutes before bathing to remove chlorine . . . Since it's used over and over, it's rather inexpensive.I've been in some places where I can't stand the smell of the water! . . . or drink it . .. way too much chlorine.hugs,Rogene
Guest guest
Krista ~ Rashes come for all kinds of reasons. Has it developed since the weather got so cold there? Does it itch or anything ? Hope it goes away spoon. One thing that works well, is while you are wet, in the shower have a spray bottle with oil and water mix in it, about 1/5 th of oil, the rest water. Spray it on you and smoothe in. If need be, pat dry. Bless you ~ DedeSee AOL's top rated recipes and easy ways to stay in shape for winter.
Guest guest
Hi Rogene- No, I can't think of anything that I have done different lately, other then taking a few new supplements. I wonder if I had an allergic reaction to one of them?? They aren't itchy, raised and they don't hurt. They just look like a bunch of little red dots splashed on my legs. I'm going to go to the store today and get some hydrocortisone like Jenn suggested...hopefully that helps! ~Krista > > Krista, > > I'd try to think of what may have caused it . . . Guest guest
This sounds like petechiae. Read this definition and see if it sounds like yours, Krista. They are sometimes associated with autoimmune disease. I had them on my legs when I got my implants. Patty http://www.medterms.com/script/main/art.asp?articlekey=4853 Definition of Petechiae Petechiae: Pinpoint flat round red spots under the skin surface caused by intradermal hemorrhage (bleeding into the skin). Petechiae are red because they contain red blood that has leaked from the capillaries into the skin. Petechiae are quite tiny (less than 3 millimeters in diameter) and do not blanch when pressed upon. There are many conditions in which petechiae may be seen. These conditions range from very minor to very major. The common causes of petechiae include local injury and trauma, allergic reactions, autoimmune diseases, viral infections that impair blood coagulation (clotting), thrombocythemia (an abnormally high platelet level), certain medical treatments such as radiation and chemotherapy, idiopathic thrombocytopenic purpura (ITP), leukemia and other bone marrow malignancies that may lower the number of platelets, and sepsis (bloodstream infection). Petechiae are commonly seen right after birth in the newborn and after violent vomiting or coughing. Drugs such as the anticoagulants warfarin (Coumadin) or heparin, aspirin, and cortisone can also cause petechiae. > > > > Krista, > > > > I'd try to think of what may have caused it . . . Guest guest
Hi Krista, is right about the chlorine. I'm not sure how far you've read in the Maker's Diet, but Rubins advises all people w/ immune problems to stay away from swimming pools and avoid tap water. He recommends a water filter to eliminate the chlorine. It took my husband less than 5 mintues to install. How is your rash today? I'm trying to get so much done before the busy week arrives and my sis gets into town, so I haven't been able to get on the computer much. The rash is actually looking better. It isn't completely gone, but it has definitely faded. I finished The Maker's Diet last week and I do remember him saying to stay away from chlorine. We have a filter on the water we drink, I guess I need to install one in the shower too! Are we still on for starting the diet in January? Guest guest
Hi Krista, Glad the rash is improving. Yeah, it's a good idea to install the filters. We put one on the kitchen sink and the shower, but I want to put one on the tub and the bathroom sink too...just haven't had the time or the money or the energy! Of course I'm all for starting the Maker's Diet on the 1st! It'll be great to share recipes and encouragement. I bought more GOL SuperSeed today and have been mixing it with kefir and it's really good. Also, while I was at Whole Foods, the butcher and the chef took me around the store, giving me great, easy ideas for simple, nutritious meals. I told them I love the spicy morrocan baby lamb chops but they only have them on occasion. So they told me how to make something similar and it's super easy. Hopefully it'll turn out good. My husband and the boys are going out of town tomorrow for a b- day party so I'm going to get creative in the kitchen and do my DMSA mercury challenge. Only 5 more days til your sis comes in. Are you ready? Love, PH -- In , " Krista " <seekingthetruthaboutimplants@...> wrote: > > PH- I'm waaaaaaaaaaaaay behind on posts. Guest guest
PH- How'd everything go with the baby last night? You getting baby fever now, huh? Well that's okay....as soon as we are better you and me can start trying for a baby at the same time! Yeah! You can give your sweet little boys a baby sister!! The rash is almost completely gone now, it's so faint. The condo that we are taking my sister and her husband to this weekend has a hot tub. Of course it was one of the main reasons why we rented this particular one...but now I'm not sure I should even go in it with everyone! But, I hate to feel left out! Man, this whole illness sucks bigs ones! I guess if I do go in it and I get another rash, I'll know it's for sure the chlorine! I'm going to sign up for The Maker's Diet online because the book really doesn't give a ton of recipes, plus I like the idea that they will specialize it for me online. Should be interesting! I love it how you've made friends with everyone at Whole Foods. You are getting personalized tours now! Too funny! I think you need to share some of those recipes with me! I think hubby is getting sick of chicken every night...HA! Well, good luck with your challenge today. Let us know how it goes. Oh, and I think I'm ready for my sis. I need to hit the grocery store today and stock up on food so I don't have to go while they are here. Then, the housekeeper is coming tomorrow to clean my bomb of a house. Thank goodness!!
