Guest guest
Our son was a regressive MMR case. He showed high titers to EBV and we did Valtrex for 7 or 8 months. We stopped the Valtrex about 8 months ago with no apparent regression. In the last few months we have become increasingly frustrated with out of control mouthing and toe- walking that has always been bad and is getting worse. so we thought we would give anti-viral another whirl. We started OLE and within 2 days his mouthing was down 90%. We saw a noted improvement in toe walking. The thing that is bothering us is that has always been very sensitive to phenols. Sure enough after about 3 or 4 days on OLE started getting red-rimmed and runny eyes which is exactly what happens after repeated phenol infractions. Incidentally he also got a runny nose. Is there enough phenol content in the OLE to cause a reaction? Has an allergic response to OLE ever been noted? We are at that point were we are wondering the wisdom in pressing on.
