Guest guest
I was supposed to be getting Tasigna through the Novartis patient assistance program. Here's the rub. My state disability has run out and my return to unemployment has yet to begin. I am doing OK on my savings. But as far as Novartis goes, I am a person with no income. So they called today and told me I have TWO DAYS to submit a letter from my doctor ON LETTERHEAD stating that he knows for a fact I have no income. They said it's got to be from my doctor -- not a therapist, not a nurse practitioner -- and it must be on personal letterhead. I was embarrassed to death, but I asked my doctor, and he was taken aback. He didn't feel like it was proper for him to vouch for a patient's finances. He is not in that business. He is up to his gills treating patients and overseeing residents. The thing I don't get is, Novartis HAS all my paperwork. They've got records up the kazoot! Bank statements, what have you. But If I don't cough up this letter-on-letterhead within two business days they are officially declining my request. Has anyone had to deal with anything like this before? I'm in a panic.
