Guest guest
I just watched my DVR of today's show. While I am disappointed that they didn't talk more about the results for the CML patients, it was very interesting the Dr. Druker has opened a complete new field of treatment for cancer patients. His discovery of Gleevec has only been FDA approved for 10 years and is already helping in 10 different cancers. I can hold my disappointment and rejoice that what was designed for a few is helping an unbeliveable number of surviors to hold a glimmer of hope that a bonified treatment has been found and give them hope that a cure may be in sight for many in the near future. Guest guest
What kind of leukemia did that young girl have? The one that was on with her dad? Sent via BlackBerry by AT & T [ ] Dr. Oz Show I too was really disappointed in this segment of his show. To say we are in remission is wrong; we are getting a good response to the drug. He made it appear that everyone of us are living normal lives with absolutely no side effects. I would have loved to have heard from CML patients themselves with no editing. Maybe I'll write his site and tell him my views! Let you know if I follow through with this. Hugs, Judy P.

The one that was on with her dad? _____________________________ For Gleevec to be her treatment, she had to have the Philadelphia chromosome....so she either had CML or there is one other form or leukemia that sometimes has the ph+ cell (I think it is AML). Because she had not been ill and was hospitalized for an injury when her leukemia was discovered, she probably had CML. C.
