Guest guest
We got back from UCLA today and the nurse managed to blow the vein right off the bat and kept trying to salvage it even though I told her its blown, it was bubbled up, but she just had to try like 3 more times before giving up then she wanted to do the other hand which was not exactly open to as she's right handed. I insisted we try SCIG, they checked her and discovered she has fat again! She sure didn't 2 weeks ago when we where there, my mom had her all last week while I doing dealing with the surgery with the baby and she said she ate like a pig and she ended up gaining exactly 1 lb:) Must have all been in her stomach:) Then we had the fun of they only had the needles on hand which don't work so well for rail thin kids but hey mommy saved the day! I had our infusion bag in the car so we just used our softsets and everything went off without a hitch, well minus the nurse trying to figure out how to use the dang pump the pharmacy sent up. The Dr hopes she will have gained a few more pounds before her next growth spurt. I'm not holding my breath but for now it appears our access to IG is no longer threatened since were back on home therapy which is really good since I applied for an apt yesterday. I'm hoping we get it, its cheap and has something we have never had, a yard!
