Guest guest
Hello, These are great ideas. Please know that she can ask her Dr. for a prescription, Phenegren (sp?) or Zofran (sp) that can be taken 1/2 hour before the Gleevec and NO NAUSIA!!!!! Blessings, Jo-Dee From: traceyincanada <traceyincanada@...> Subject: [ ] Re: Possible allergie to gleevec? Date: Wednesday, April 21, 2010, 8:51 AM  The rash is probably associated with the vomiting. When we vomit, it's common to break little tiny capillaries and/or become flushed. Does the rash resolve after some time? If so, then I highly doubt it would be an allergy. If she was truly allergic to the Gleevec, she wouldn't get any relief since she takes the drug daily. The rash would just get worse. I used to vomit after taking my dose until I realized that I wasn't drinking enough water with the pill. When I increased my water to at least 6 oz, I noticed the nausea was cut down tremendously. I would suggest that she try eating more food to cushion the stomach and drink an entire glass of water when taking the pill. Hope that helps. Tracey dx Jan 2002 > > Hi, I used to post on here quite a bit. My wife Beth has had CML for over two years now and has been doing great on Gleevec. She reached total remission in less than 6 months. recently she has been having episodes of vomiting after taking her nightly dose but it only happens about every other week or so. The last time she also had a slight rash develop on her neck. I'm wondering if any one else has had a similar experiance in the past. Does it look like she may be developing an allergie to the gleevec. We hate this idea just because the Gleevec has worked so well the thought of having to come off it is pretty scarey to us. Any ideas? >
