Guest guest
Hi, I am wondering if it's possible to get a doctor who can remember me. Even a vague memory would make me feel great. Every time I see a doctor, any doctor, it's like the very first time they've seen me. I'd even settle for a thorough review of the chart. Last time I saw my rheumatologist he thought it had been three years since I last saw him, but it was only one month. When I told him about going off of a med that was giving me trouble, he gave me a look like I shouldn't have done that--until I said, " I called. " (I didn't want to embarrass him by adding: " It's what your nurse told me to do. " ) I have set up a second opinion appointment in Jan. with a different rheumy. Any tips on being remembered and getting good care? Sierra
Guest guest
Keep looking. But even though I do not share in your experience with my Rheumatologist, I have felt that way with several other doctors. My Rheumy is great. He asks me how my hubby as (as he remembered that my husband is deployed). He asks how my Mom is as she was sick for awhile. He asks about my dogs and how my school teaching job is. I know all this is written in my chart, LOL. But it still think he remembers some things. I see my doctor often, even 3 months so maybe that helps. But I do have to agree. It seems bed-side-manner is not a class many doctors passed in medical school.
