My cousin just died yesterday. She had Multiple Myeloma, but did not die from this. She did not have a colonoscopy when she should have, (was going thru her second stem cell transplant) and just died of COLON CANCER!!! Please don't neglect the rest of your body because you are so wrapped up in your CML. Ladies, get your mammograms yearly, men, get your prostates checked and ALL of us should have colonoscopies on a regular basis. Please, please, don't neglect yourselves. Guest guest
So Sorry to hear of your loss ! My sympathy and prayers go out to you and your family. Yes, it is important to have your regular testing. My husband and I just recently had our routine Colonoscopy, and we are now good for another 5 years. Some people are afraid to have the procedure, but we find it relatively easy to do. Hope everyone takes your message seriously. Take Care A. > > I know that I don't post often, but do read most of the posts. My cousin just died yesterday. She had Multiple Myeloma, but did not die from this. Guest guest
Dear : Sorry to hear your very sad news. I think all of us who have a long term illness just get fed up sometimes of being poked and prodded again and again. We know it's for our own good and are very grateful for the skills available and the many kind people we meet along the way, but we're just human and wish we didn't need them. Thank you for encouraging us all along the way. Guy Re: [ ] Please don't forget , I'm so sorry. What sad news. You are very compassionate to be thinking of others at this time. Guest guest
, I was so sorry to hear about your cousin, that is terrible and an awful shock, my sympathies go out to you and your family. My brother in law has MM and I will mention to him also. In OZ we have a national bowel screening program and I had a friend do it 2 years ago and to her shock she was dx with bowel cancer and fortunately caught it in time. I have yearly scopes, due next week and it always makes me feel better knowing it is one less thing to worry about. Anyone over the age of 50 should have a colonoscopy and then at least every 5 years.
