Guest guest
----- Original Message ----- Her GGT was 73 (23 is norm) AST was 164 (32 is norm) and ALT was 184 (24 is norm). Hi Becki, I wanted to share that from our experience through Conner's bone marrow transplant, these numbers aren't all that elevated. I wouldn't be concerned. The numbers will likely return to normal after the Septra is stopped and even if it's not stopped any time soon it shouldn't cause any problems. It would likely be a different story if the numbers were in the 1000's. Hope this helps! Guest guest
Good chance it was the Septra, advil, tylenol combo and hopefully they will return to normal soon. Her uric acid was normal and her bilirubin and BUN were just a tiny bit low. She was on Septra which I have now read can cause bad headaches and high liver levels. Since she was having the bad headaches the whole time she was on it (2 weeks) I was also giving her Tylenol and Advil around the clock. She's not jaundice and the dr. didn't seem concerned yesterday, but her levels seemed pretty high to me! Becki > > > Depends on how elevated. Macey's had elevated liver levels throughout her disease. Sometimes they relate it to Advil use, IVIG, or antibiotics. The highest she's been is just over 100 on each level. But they eventually come down. She's usually not very jaundiced so they don't worry too much. > > Ursula - mom to (16) and Macey (13,CVID) > > www.caringbridge. org/visit/ maceyholleman > > > > @...: rionfam@...: Wed, 17 Dec 2008 03:52:01 +0000Subject: Elevated liver enzymes after taking Septra > > > > I'm a little freaked out. Reagon went to the dr. today for infusion and her labs from last time came back that her GGT AST and ALT (liver enzymes) were all very elevated. The dr. acted like it was no big deal that it was just from the antibiotic she had been on (Septra). Has anyone else ever had this happen? BeckiReagon 7yrs.
