Hello, yes I have been on Tasigna for a year now and yes I go through periods

where my scalp is very itchy. It lasts for a few days and then will disappear

for awhile. I also go thru periods of lossing large strands of hair, butbhave

begun to take vitamins for hair, and also don't use the blow dryer anymore.

The worst I get is the bone pain which it terrible. Also periods of

nausea, diarreha, constipation, dizzy spells and headaches. I also go thru periods

of napping and then that will disappear for a bit.

I wish you the best luck.

[ ] Tasigna, Scalp itching.

I was just wondering if anyone who is on Tasigna is having or had itchy scalp?

And what they did to help with the itching. I am having horrible scalp itch and

it started about 3 days after starting Tasigna. Any advice will help. Thanks,

Yes - Itchy scalp here too! My skin is very dry everywhere. My forehead

feels like alligator skin. I recently bought some shampoo with green tea and

mint (only used it twice so far). And I am going to try using baby oil after

the bath to see if I can trap some moisture in my skin. J I don't really

want to feel like an alligator.

Tammy,

I'm not on Tasigna, I'm in the Ariad trial, but I too have extremely dry,

alligator skin. I have started using Neutrogena Body Oil while I'm still in the

shower--I slather it on and let the extra rinse off in the shower. It does the

trick and by putting it on in the shower it is not as messy (I tried using it

after my shower--what a mess! lol)

Good luck,

Beth

Dr oz says olive oil is the best! I keep a small bottle in my shower and and put

some on my scuffy with my bath gel! Keeps my skin moisturized! He also said it

is good for the hair but I am afraid to get my hair so oily. Just a tip

Sharon--Great tip! Thank you. Olive Oil is a lot cheaper than the

Neutrogena...I'll give it a try.

Everyone who has responded has had some good ideas on how to help you manage

your side effects. I would like to offer one more, not knowing if it will

help or not. When I was having bad skin related side effects from Gleevec I

found that taking 1,000mg to 2,000mg of Flaxseed Oil daily cleared my skin

of the Gleevec problems within a few weeks. My dermatologist confirmed this

for me.

As I said, it might not work, but it is a really good source of

anti-Occidents and can be a beneficial supplement for anyone.
