No it does not mean u need a BMT! U may have to increase the dosage or try

another med like Tasigna or the results will come back PCRU on Sept 13th. U will

be fine and have lots of options.

Hi everyone!

My doctor just called me today and said that my test came back 10 points higher.

They said they want me to come back in a few weeks to retake it as it could be a

" false positive " (I think that's my doctors sugar coating it).

Here's my question. I am on 400 mg of Gleevec and have been since Oct 2009. This

test was suppose to come back PCRU. They tell me if my test comes back in a few

weeks and it has gone up again, it could mean that the gleevec is not working

anymore.... Does this mean I need a BMT? Has anyone gone through this? Should I

be worried? I'm supposed to retake it the week of sept 13th...

Hi ,

It doesn't mean anything of the sort.

It takes 3 consecutive PCR test results to establish a trend. Do you have a

copy of all your results? Make sure you get them so that you can see for

yourself. Also, we don't know what 10 points mean. Get the results and post

them. We will be able to tell you better.

Before going to BMT many things would have to happen. e.g. increase Gleevec

dose, mutation testing, switching to other TKIs, etc, etc.
