Yes I am PCRU, and I just got my new slip to go for my testing the end of the

month.

It was never written up like this.  I do my complete blood work every 3 months,

and then I do complete with a PCR every 6 monnths.  After all this time, and

doing so good this guy is really annoying me.  He is giving me a hard time

about doing a BMB, because he never did one on me.  He has no reason to do

one.  I even wrote to Dr. Druker, and he agreed that if there was anything

going on that they would see some changes in the blood work as we go along.  He

said he would not put me through the BMB.

I have been getting a bcr/abl pcr test and it reads 0.000 everytime I go.

Just want to be sure I am doing the right thing, and not sure if this guy is?

new doctor is doing my test for the first time, and he wants a FISH along with

the PCR. I have not had a FISH test since we started doing the PCR's.

Hi ,

Aren't you like PCRU? then a FISH won't really show anything (unless it is

programmed to look at more than the bcr-abl).

But it is standard with the cml specialists to get a pcr every 3 months, to

catch any changes early.....with this alone, most of them are satisfied.

Ask this doctor to explain why he is doing some things and see what he says (and

what he knows).

Hi :  Its so annoying when your treated by the same doctor for so long.,

and then a new doctor takes over his practice, which is what this is all

about.  Its like he has to prove something.  I was diagnosed in 1998, and its

been a long haul.  I am so grateful for where I am with my CML, and its like

this guy will not be satisfied until he can find something to say I Told You So.

I was thinking of scratching out the FISH so it just reads PCR.

If he does not listen to me at this next office visit after I do the PCR Test,

then I am definitely moving on.  I do not have many choices of good doctors

close by, therefore, I have been sticking with this doctors office for now.

No, I haven't had a fish test or BMA since The QPCR test was introduced. At my

last visit with the VA they had an intern ONC review my progress and he became

so upset about not following protocol by having them that he went to a senior

ONC to get support. I tried to explain to him that I was not in a test group

that required the extra testing he just couldn't understand the situtation.

Fortunately the Senior ONC came in and asked if I was happy with my primary

ONC's treatment and I said yes. He chose to release me for the same six months

that my Primary ONC was testing on.
