Guest guest
Hi Tracey, I have been on Prevacid about one month, so don't really know. I was on Imeprasole and it was fine with the PCR, but had dire side effects. Dr. Talpaz has ok'd Prevacid, so I doubt it will bother anything. Bobby a ( Bobby ) Doyle, dob 12/17/29 DX 5/1995 Interferon 9 weeks/Hydroxyurea 5 years 02/2000 to 06/2002 Gleevec trial, OHSU 06/2002 Gleevec/Trisenox Trial, OHSU 06/2003 Gleevec/Zarnestra Trial, OHSU 04/2004 Sprycel Trial, MDACC, CCR in 10 months 04/2008 XL228 Trial, U of Mich. 01/2009 PCR 5.69 04/2009 Ariad Trial AP24534 09/2009 PCR 0.01 11/2009 PCR 0.034 02/2010 PCRU #840 Zavie's Zero Club From: mtadros9@... <mtadros9@...> Subject: Re: [ ] PPI's (Proton Pump Inhibitors) " CML Group " < > Date: Tuesday, June 1, 2010, 9:57 AM  Hi tracey I am taking Nexium once a day and I am not sure if it does have any effect on my PCRU. Guest guest
Hi , I take Pantoprazole (Somac in OZ) ~ Protonix after I was dx with a gastric ulcer last July. I have since reduced my Tasigna from 800mg a day to 600mg in February, as Tasigna has caused a nasty flare up of my Crohn's Disease and still remain PCRU since Dec 08. Guest guest
That's what I'm trying to determine Matt. There was some speculation a while ago that Gleevec must be exposed to an acidic environment in order to be metabolized. This of course would be a problem if someone was taking a PPI since it reduces the acid content of the stomach but so far I haven't found any evidence to suggest that there is any interaction. Guest guest
Hi Tracey: I developed GERD after starting my Gleevec in 2000, and I have been on Nexium now for years, even before I became PCRU. In my case it has not done anything to my PCR results. I have had no problems. Guest guest
Ah, I see, it may explain some people's poor absorbtion and performance. Very insightful. Guest guest
I was on Prilosec for years before I was diagnosed with CML in 2000. I have been on Nexium for about six or seven years. I remain PCR-U (since September, 2002). B from California (must change e-mail address; I see this is an old one. New is nancybelcher@...) Guest guest
Yes, I'm taking PPI due to horrible reflux. Don't know if it has affected my PCR. Is there some link to that?
