Hi tracey I am taking Nexium once a day and I am not sure if it does have any

effect on my PCRU. I lost my PCRU when they reduce my Gleevec dose to 200mg

after taking 400mg my numbers are getting better slowly in spite of Nexium,

Hi Everyone,

I'm curious to know how many of you are taking a Proton Pump Inhibitor such as

Losec, Prilosec, Prevacid, Nexium, or Protonix and if it's had any effect on

your PCR?

Hi Tracey, I have been on Prevacid about one month, so don't really know.  I

was on Imeprasole  and it was fine with the PCR, but had dire side effects.

Dr. Talpaz has ok'd  Prevacid, so I doubt it will bother anything.  Bobby

Hi ,

I take Pantoprazole (Somac in OZ) ~ Protonix after I was dx with a gastric

ulcer last July. I have since reduced my Tasigna from 800mg a day to 600mg

in February, as Tasigna has caused a nasty flare up of my Crohn's Disease

and still remain PCRU since Dec 08.

That's what I'm trying to determine Matt. There was some speculation a while

ago that Gleevec must be exposed to an acidic environment in order to be

metabolized. This of course would be a problem if someone was taking a PPI

since it reduces the acid content of the stomach but so far I haven't found any

evidence to suggest that there is any interaction.

Hi Tracey: I developed GERD after starting my Gleevec in 2000, and I have been

on Nexium now for years, even before I became PCRU. In my case it has not done

anything to my PCR results. I have had no problems.

Ah, I see, it may explain

some people's poor absorbtion

and performance. Very

insightful.

I was on Prilosec for years before I was diagnosed with CML in 2000. I have

been on Nexium for about six or seven years. I remain PCR-U (since September,

2002).

Yes, I'm taking PPI due to horrible reflux. Don't know if it has affected my

PCR. Is there some link to that?
