Thank you for you for your warm message. It's always good to hear from someone

across the Atlantic. We have been allied in our support groups with several

people who are readers of the posts and have found lots of common ground. I'm

afraid I can't advise you on any of the side effects, but there may be someone

else who can

Someone in England told me if you get off Gleevec, you can't go back on it at a

later date, (new rules) so I suppose under those circumstances you will have to

ask your doctor to give you a little vacation and then try to go back on a lower

dose and work back up to the higher dose. Did you ever have your serum levels

checked? You may not need the dose you are on, but less. I wouldn't advise you

to do anything without your doctor's permission and direction. If you had a

rash, we would take steriods for that and that usually takes care of the

problem. You can always call the Novartis hot line and talk to a chemist who

may be able to give you some useful information for your problem.

Best of luck to you,

Lottie Duthu
