Hi Lottie, acupuncture has not always helped, some things it does and some it

doesn't.  I had back ache this morning, but not for the rest of the day, I will

see how it goes.  I know, that something that has been around for 3,000 years

must have some merit.  Surgery would be my last resort, I am just hoping this

will go away as most of our aches and pains do.  The body can't get to be 80 +

without something wearing out or breaking down, we just have to accept some

things. I don't like taking pain pills.  Sometimes making fun of something is

the best medicine.  My kids will say, come on old lady, it can't be that bad,

let's go shopping, or let's go get a drink!  Or my oldest will say, geesh Mom,

why don't we just take you out and shoot you!  I have such nice kids!  Bobby

Dear Bobby,

You never cease to amaze me with your life experiences and your way of

talking about it. I know you made everyone laugh as much as I did. Maybe I

laughed a little harder, because I know you and I expect the unexpected. LOL

No one can say that you did not have an interesting life. Your acupuncturist

sounds like a winning ticket and I hope you get to cash in, the type of pain you

describe is enough to take the joy out of everything, even your bong. LOL. How

are you doing with that anyway, still using it? I told Jimmy about it and he

said he would try to get some for me, but I haven't made a decision. I'll bet

my grandchildren could find it. I saw some women giving it to their children

for ADHD & OCD. They put it in food and the kids held their noses while they

took it, but it changed them completely, while before they were incorrigable and

unmanageable.

I looked into the Marinol, but it is over $10 for one capsule and it is as

addictive as any other drug. I don't think marijauna has been proven to be

addictive, but I know someone else will be able to thrash that out better than

me. For a lot of people, acupuncture is their salvation. We have only one

doctor here who practices that discipline, but it is not covered by Medicare, so

I have not used her because of the costs. I did find a doctor in New Orleans

years ago when my private insurance covered it, but it was of no benefit to me,

so I am not sold on it for myself, even while it may be good for others. Have a

pain free weekend everybody, including me. LOL

xoxo

Hi Bobby & Lottie,

Have you tried a new mattress? I splurged a few years ago and bought a sleep

number bed.  Have NO regrets. When I sleep anywhere else, I wake up with a back

ache. Sounds like a commercial.haha. I hope your pains go away.

My husband has a lot of aches and pains, he often says to himself, " I should go

out back and shoot myself. " It makes me cringe even though I know he's not

serious.  Just sounds awful.

Have a good and I hope you get feeling better soon. Jackie S

I agree about the Sleep Number (Select Comfort) bed! My husband and I got one

(a king-size) when I was pregnant (at age 44) about 11 years ago--and we have

never regretted that decision! It is truly an incredible bed~! I love being

able to make it softer or firmer depending on how I am feeling at the

moment--and my back is never sore in the morning when I get up nowadays. And my

husband can do the same for his own side of the bed.

We do sound like commercials, don't we? THey should pay us. Hope all are

feeling well and no pain soon--either pot or moxibustion or whatever does the

trick--I like cuddling up with my chihuahua and some Ben and Jerry's--anything

but letting our kids take us out back and shoot us, those little dickens!~

I would love a sleep number bed, but I have something similar to a Craftmatic,

it is electric, and needs a mattress that can go up and down. It is the best bed

for when the GERD acts up, I can put it in a sitting position.   I used to have

a water bed, loved it to death, it was so comfortable,  I was young then,

getting into one now would pose more than one problem, getting out would even be

worse!  I have started PT, and that's a trip, I have to get on the floor to do

exercise, they call it " homework " .   Getting on the floor is almost like

getting into a waterbed, I can get there, but getting back up is a tricky

process, the old bones just don't move like they used to.  Bobby
