Guest guest
Thanks . LOL. I was very happy to hear only 6 more weeks. When i asked her how much longer.....i was half expecting her to say 4 more months...lol..but when she said 6 more weeks..that made me happy. His cranial facial dr had said another month..and then just let him outgrow the band...but he had said in the beginning that he would wear it for 2 months....and Charlotte kind of said longer...so i wasn't sure how much longer. It will be about 3 months by the time he graduates...if he wears it for another 6 weeks..so that wasn't too bad. How's doing with the new helmet? So far it sounds good....is she still doing good in it? Mom to In a message dated 10/3/2002 8:50:43 PM Eastern Daylight Time, taime@... writes: , Only 6 more weeks?? Wow that is great! Guest guest
Thanks , I am very happy....yea..i can handle 6 more weeks. Did you ask Charlotte how much longer for Logan? I bet he'll be done in no time too. I'm only worried now that his growth will slow down..and then he'll have to wear it for longer.....lol..(i'm always worrying about something) but i won't worry about that....i'm just happy that it really is working!! Yea, send an update on Logan!! Mom to In a message dated 10/3/2002 9:16:23 PM Eastern Daylight Time, iammichelle@... writes: Wow, that is so great . 6 weeks is nothing! I am jealous! Guest guest
Debbie, Thanks. Yea...i was happy when she said 6 more weeks. Of course if growth slows down and she suggests longer..i will probably leave it on longer..but she said that 6 weeks should be it...just to pop out the remaining flatness on the right side (which is much less noticeable now...and popped out a lot already) and for a little more growth on the left front...and she said for a little more length in the back to make it more rounded. But it really has gotten so much better. I often look at his head now and say it's not perfect..but if i got no more correction..i would be satisfied..though i obviously would be thrilled with more correction. But she said he will get more correction..so i'm very happy. He still has some height in the back....if he looks down..his head slopes downward..but it isn't as noticeable as it was.....b/c they kind of lifted his forehead a little with the helmet to make it less noticeable..and Charlotte said it looks better....and it does. And i was happy that she told us that his ears are lining up better which is what Dr hall had said. Yea..i hope my friend's daughter's head does get better on its own...but i don't know..b/c i've known them for about 4 months now...and she is walking now (just started) and so she hasn't really been on her back the whole time and it hasn't gotten any better.....but with hair..it probably will be covered up. Guest guest
Dear Al, I am sorry to hear of Randi's results. My stepdaughter who is 23 had the same thing happen. The first time they used the freezing technique and the second time they used the lazer. Her last pap smear came back ok. It sounds as though they are going to do what is necessary to effect a positive outcome. Thank goodness that she went to the dr and this was caught before it got worse. She will have to be followed closely for the next year or so with frequent pap smears. It is so important for young women to go to the dr even though they think that they are healthy. The same thing holds true for young men; even in their late teens, and testicular cancer. I hope that they can get to the bottom of why you are still losing weight. Has this ever happened to any of the other men in your family? Just close your eyes and imagine that you are having a milk shake when you drink that barium (I don't know about you, but my imagination is not powerful enough for that)! Please know that you and Randi are still in our thoughts and prayers. Needless to say, she'll be in my prayers. Let us know how it goes! Much love to you and yours, Carol [ ] Update Hi everyone, As you know, it's been a pretty hectic time for me lately as I am still having tests done regarding my weight loss. My GI doctor called me at 10:00 pm with my biopsy results. Needless to say I was pretty anxious when he called. On a good note, all of them were normal. No cancer anywhere. I will be having a small bowel x-ray tomorrow morning. Can't wait to drink that barium again...LOL! My weight has remained around 160 with minimal exercise and lots of food. Although this sounds like a dream diet, I feel like the main character from King's " Thinner " . On a bad note, Randi received some results back. She has cervical cancer and needs to have laser surgery Saturday. In reading up on it it appears that the procedure is primarily used on patients that have Stage 0 cancer. The hope is that it's contained. It was difficult because there was a celebration of my results and much sorrow for hers. We are remaining positive though. I would like to thank everyone for all of the Birthday wishes and kind thoughts and prayers. I believe it really helped and am grateful to have each of you in my life. Wishing you all a pain free Thursday. All my love, Al

Guest guest
Great news that your biopsy results are normal, Al! Good luck on the x-ray tomorrow. You sure are having a lot of testing fun. Sorry that Randi's news isn't better, but it sounds like she's been going for exams regularly and very much on top of things, so they should have caught the cervical cancer very early. Wow, 25 lbs, such a big boy. Congrats. Guest guest
, I'm sorry to hear Tucker isn't a candidate for a second band. I have read of children continuing to round out, after graduating. So hopefully that will happen w/Tucker. Please let us know what EI has to say. They've done wonders with . Good luck with your insurance. I hope you win! > hi all..well i have an update about tucker..he had his appt today..he > weighed in at 25 lbs..not sure on height tho..she said that the 2nd doc band > is out...and what i'm feeling is not the soft spots..just the way the bones > fused together...sooo..she did say tho that she has been talking to alot of > other doctors that are familiar with this since tucker is the only one she > knows of having plagio and they think that his head may continue to round > out...and i must say..i'm starting to notice that it is..hats aren't fitting > and it just feels bigger and looks better also..who knows...however..she did > get in contact with our birth to 3years program..its like ei...she is > concerned about his speach as he doesn't say words much..not on his own..you > have to say it about 20 times and then he'll say it once..sooo..we aren't > sure when that will be..she looked at his jaw and said that tmj should be > ruled out from plagio..and even if he does get it we'll never know cause > both ty and i have it anyways...so..we will see...hopfully tomorrow i will > have an update also on our fight against our insurance..the lawyer is to > call..so keep your fingers crossed.. > > thanks > > brenda > mom of tucker > doc grad
Guest guest
: Thanks for the update. Sounds like you have a good pediatrician. That's great you've seen some improvment post band! That's what we all hope for. I'm sure Tucker will catch up with his speech soon, he's not even 2 Debbie Abby's mom DOCGrad MI > hi all..well i have an update about tucker..he had his appt today..he > weighed in at 25 lbs..not sure on height tho..she said that the 2nd doc band > is out...and what i'm feeling is not the soft spots..just the way the bones > fused together...sooo..she did say tho that she has been talking to alot of > other doctors that are familiar with this since tucker is the only one she > knows of having plagio and they think that his head may continue to round > out...and i must say..i'm starting to notice that it is..hats aren't fitting > and it just feels bigger and looks better also..who knows...however..she did > get in contact with our birth to 3years program..its like ei...she is > concerned about his speach as he doesn't say words much..not on his own..you > have to say it about 20 times and then he'll say it once..sooo..we aren't > sure when that will be..she looked at his jaw and said that tmj should be > ruled out from plagio..and even if he does get it we'll never know cause > both ty and i have it anyways...so..we will see...hopfully tomorrow i will > have an update also on our fight against our insurance..the lawyer is to > call..so keep your fingers crossed.. > > thanks > > brenda > mom of tucker > doc grad
