Guest guest
Hi Sandy, If we could afford it, we wouldn't request free cleaning. I hope that isn't expected of me if I should be fortunate to receive the service. God Bless, Jackie S. From: Sandy <sandi3533@...> Subject: [ ] Cleaning For a Reason Date: Thursday, September 2, 2010, 12:17 PM Â Hi all. Robyn met the lady who will clean her condo once a month starting Sept. 11. The lady came with her husband and told Robyn that she doesn't get compensated for doing the cleaning. She does it because she wants to. She said that she has a full time job as a Police Sergeant at a college. Her husband added that they hope that when the 4 months are up Robyn might consider hiring her. I know that one of you responded that he had the cleaning and was pleased. Do you think that the lady should be tipped? Should she be given a gift? Guest guest
Hi Jackie. My thoughts are that the person Robyn was assigned might be hinting for a tip or gift. I would think that most wouldn't. If I were you, I would try to get the help. Whoever will clean for you is doing it probably as a volunteer with the purpose of helping others.and I do not feel that you are obligated to tip or give a gift. I put it out there because I pondered the thought. I forgot who said that he used the service and was pleased.I was hoping that he would see the post and respond to the question that I had. Best of luck to you. Guest guest
Hi All. I thought that you would be interested in hearing how the cleaning for Robyn went. The lady who met with Robyn before the start date said that they are supposed to concentrate on 2 rooms and asked which 2. When Robyn answered bathroom and kitchen, the woman said that she would do all because she could see how tired Robyn was. She said that it would take 2 or 3 hours. I came over to let the cleaning people in because Robyn was taking Mikey to Toys R Us where a Party was supposed to be held. The lady came with her daughter. They were done in 45 minutes to an hour. They were supposed to use green cleaners, but the daughter used an item that must have had bleach because it bleached part of the bathroom rug. The mother vacuumed the living room and dining room area. The vacuum hit a chair, and her daughter suggested that she move the chairs by the dining room table. No one windexed nor cleaned the t.v. , windows, sliding doors, nor bedroom. The cleaning mop that they brought looked like the one that was used in the school in which I was employed. I suggested to Robyn that she give them her cleaning materials so items don't get bleached and a rag mop that has been used elsewhere isn't used. Maybe each group is different, but if asked would she hire them, the answer would be no. You can find out if the cleaning is available in your area, and maybe you will get lucky like Greg who had a good experience. Sandi
