Guest guest
This came in an advertisement, but the information I am copying is general information for everyone on Medicare to take notice of the changes. What’s staying the same? • The guaranteed benefits you get from Medicare will not change • During annual enrollment, which starts November 15, you can choose between Original Medicare, a Medicare Advantage plan and a Part D plan • Medicare will cover your health care costs the same way • There are no changes to who is eligible for Medicare What are the changes to Medicare? • The Medicare Part D coverage gap will shrink over time so you don’t have to pay as much out of pocket for prescription drugs. This will start in 2010: • A greater focus on preventive care and screenings will help keep people as healthy as possible. • Medicare Advantage plans will have an annual out-of-pocket maximum limit. • Most people will have only from November 15 to December 31 to enroll in a plan. The Open Enrollment Period from January 1 to March 31 goes away. There will be changes to some Private Fee-For-Service (PFFS) plans.
