Thanks > Hi , the first bone marrow biopsy I had was exccrutiating and when when I got off the bed, my right leg collapsed beneath me! But the second one was fine, with only slight discomfort. The difference? The first one was done by a young inexperienced doctor - she was in and out with that big needle like a blue-assed fly! I was advised to make sure a nurse did the next one, which I did and it was fine. So that's the lesson for next time. Make sure you ask for someone who knows what they're doing. I think the pain down your leg is probably due to slight nerve damage and it should go away with time, mine did. That same woman did it on her own a 6 months later. THAT hurt. She didn't do it right. I hurt for months and months afterward. That nerve down the back of the leg. The 3rd one, different hospital was fine too. It matters who does it. I did what Shilagh did made sure that nurse don't touch me again.
