Hi Albert As long as you pay your fees and follow the guidelines on limits (unless you buy a license), you should be OK, AFAIK. I checked with the dept of ATF agents here in Florida when I had questions because yes, it can vary state-by-state. I had researched the Florida statues with the help of some wise herbalists, and we went with what the AFT said. Why not give your local ATF a call? There is one organic alcohol producer in CA, but I can't remember her name or website right now, perhaps someone else can help. I've scoured the California State Gov't website and I can't find anything (doesn't mean it's not there - it just means that Alfred might not be so good at finding things...) http://www.alcsol.com/products/content_neutral_grape.html This is where i get my supply. awsome lends a sweetness to your perfumes of tinture

Alfred in San Francisco Hi Alfred, Anya, Actually, you might get faster results contacting your State Liquor Control Board; they are the ones that actually set the rules for the sale of alcohol in each state. This is the route if you want to get your own license to purchase in quantity for manufacturing and also import from other states or abroad. Since alcohol can be sold by private retailers in CA (as opposed to state operated liquor stores here in WA), you may be able to work directly with any seller of liquor with the appropriate license in your neighborhood; simply tell them what you want, where they can purchase it and see if they will get it for you. I'm not sure what the CA restrictions are, but this may be far simpler there than here in WA where we need to get annual permit from the state to purchase. The reseller will no doubt add on their markup to you, so whichever route you choose will depend on how much you are intending to purchase each year. It is my understanding that the FDA doesn't have anything to do with regulating the use of alcohol. That would be the BATF (Bureau of Alcohol and Firearms). I believe at one time, one of our members contacted the BATF and specifically asked them if it was OK to use non-denatured alcohol in a perfume. And the response was something along the lines that it was OK because by adding the perfume ingredients you were essentially making it undrinkable. You may want to do a search in the message archives. Or contact the BATF directly. I found this page on their website but it doesn't address the question specifically: http://www.atf.gov/about/service/sda/ -Patty ________________________________________________________________________________\ ____ Shape in your own image. Yes you are correct, it is the Dept of ATF who governs these matters. I went back and looked at the site where I purchase my Denatured alcohols from and their " implication " is that any alcohol including those for use with essential oils, concretes, absolutes etc. must be SD40 alcohols, according to the ATF. www.snowdriftfarm.com I'll certainly take a look at the link you gave, and see if I can contact someone directly regarding this issue. Warm Regards, Colleen
Guest guest
I can't have any alcohol either, not even a sip, I've tried to reintroduce red wine 3 or 4 times through the last 2 yrs and it just doesn't work. Guest guest
Does anyone know what exactly is the mechanism by which Lyme produces these results? It seems to be so common, it must be a result of Lyme, but I've never read anything about this effect in the literature. ellen
Guest guest
No alcohol for me either!!! I kinda miss my red wine. I am taking the cat's claw, oregano drops and olive leaf - so not exactly like everyone else. I noticed the wine intolerance before I started the herbs. My guess is that it has something to do with how the " die-off " is affecting our liver. Does anyone else have a guess as to why no wine???? > > Does anyone know what exactly is the mechanism by which Lyme produces > these results? > > It seems to be so common, it must be a result of Lyme, but I've never > read anything about this effect in the literature. > > ellen >
Guest guest
, I miss my wine too! I keep trying - I can drink a little white wine mixed with club soda. Just a very little. I'm not sure if it could be die-off in my case. Cuz it's been some 5 (?) years since I had Lyme. I don't think I would still have die-off. I think the disease must cause some permanent change in the liver's capacity to process alcohol. I wish some Lyme researcher would study this. Has anyone ever asked Buhner about it? == " zoie19582002 " <wilson33@...> wrote: > > No alcohol for me either!!! > > I kinda miss my red wine. Guest guest
Nah. I used to be a wine lover, and drank red wine during the first five years I was on Gleevec. Now I'm on Tasigna. I quit drinking for the most part about a year and a half ago. I have a little wine now and then but it just doesn't feel good or taste very good anymore for some reason. I don't know whether it conflicts with the Tasigna or what. Anyway, don't we all get our liver function checked along with everything else every month or so? Guest guest
Like anything whether it be Alcohol or Food. Everything in moderation. I am not a drinker, but I do like a glass of wine during the holidays or if I go out to dinner. It will not hurt you. Like your doctor said Be Careful, meaning do not overdo it. Have a Margarita for me too, its hot outside here in NJ. A. > > When I first started Gleevec my Dr told me " to be careful " with alcohol. What does that mean exactly? I am not much of a drinker.
