[ ] BCR/PCR results.

In msy I had my BCR/PCR drawn and the reulsts were 0.3 % with a .064 log

reduction.

Now I hsd my bone marrow biopsy last wednesdy and and my doctor called me into

come in to the office Monday insteat of the 8th, which is fine. SHe explained

to me that my PCR/ABL is now 10.9 percent. Can any one offer any adviswe so I

don't lose my mind until I see him? Anything would help. Thanks.

you will probably have to increae your gleevec. But already having lots of side

effects that may not be the ans. I had terrible side effects on gleevec and did

not reach PCRU on it either. Went to Tasigna (after sprycel for 3 years of side

effects) abd i am OCRU with NO. Side effects. I hope u have a good doctor that

knows abt all that is out there for us.

Did you doctor changes labs .The base is different in different labs.WHat is

your whits count. For sure the bios will tell something.

Hi ,

The way I read this is that you have relapsed on Gleevec, ie it is no longer

working for you, but this needs to be confirmed.

Next step would be to do a mutation test and see if you have a

mutation......then determine what is a better drug for you if you have a

mutation. Some drugs will work for some mutations. For one mutation in

particular (t 315i) there are trial drugs that are working. If it is determined

that you do have a mutation, then I think you should switch your care to the

hands of a CML specialist, or at least consult with one. Hopefully, you present

oncologist is pretty knowledgeable.....if he/she does not seem to have

explanations and a good plan, then you need a new oncologist for sure.
