than leukemia. " With CML you are diagnosing it in an early malignant or almost

premalignant phase, " he says. That makes it far easier to treat. CML is driven

by one main gene alteration that is hit by Gleevec. There are far more mutations

Hi Lottie,

I just had my 3mo visit with Dr. Druker last week, and I really have his

undivided attention for 30 minutes.....no rush in for 5 minutes and leave you

will all your questions unanswered.

He told me he was working on targeted drug for the other forms of leukmia in his

lab right now....as well as getting rid of the residual cml cells. And above

he expressed the opinion that early stage CML is NOT really like most cancers,

and is almost like a premalignant phase....which is what R. always used

to say. The first success was with CML because it is a simple 'cancer'.

Thanks for always finding great stuff to post on the internet.

AND......good wishes go with you for this to be a great drug for you, and for

you to pass all the 'admission requirements'.
