Guest guest
Hi All, Having read the recent posts about success with Omega 3s has me wanting to try supplementing for my DS (9), but he's already on Celexa. I know we're not all doctors here, but we know a lot more about OCD than a lot of them, right? Do you think it's okay to add Omega 3 while already on Celexa? Guest guest
Hi Dana, My son is 16yr, 175lbs. He is also on celexa as well as a mood stabilizer and he takes omega 3 plus other supplements. He takes 2300mg of Omega 3, by Sea Essence(expensive). He will only take pills once a day, so I found the highest dose capsule I could. For your son's age that might be too high, not to mention to large a capsule to swallow. Some prefer liquid form for this reason, look for flavored kind, Sea Essence comes in liquid form and is very good quality. Smaller doses spaced out is generally better when taking supplements, so I understand anyway. Others with kids your son's age will probably have better idea on dose, just thought I'd let you know we have been taking it 1 1/2 yrs with celexa and many years before that. I have taken for years also.
