Hello ,

I have been taking Gleevec for almost 7 .50 years and I always asked my

Oncologist to write my

prescription for the 4 pcs. of 100 mgs. I believe the 1 pc of 400 mgs. are

slightly different then

taking the 4pcs of 100 mgs. Although, how tough can it be taking 4 tiny pills?

In the early infancy of starting Gleevec, I noticed I never ate enough food to

hold it down, and so

in the early years I would take the pills then eat a little of something, and do

this 4 times.

One time I was disturbed by my kids and I accidentally chewed on a pill, it was

so bitter

that it took gallons of water just to rid the taste of Gleevec, off my

tastebuds!

I have a neighbor who is also a CMLer and does not want to join on any web-site

to chat,

anyway, she would occasionally borrow some of my small pills because her

shipment

didn't come in on a timely matter. I remember telling me that she

believed the

4 smaller pills were slightly less compounded then the hard pill of 400 mgs.

She then

switched to the 100pcs. In the early infancy Gleevec came in capsules, and not

in the

4 small brown pills. Does anyone know why they didn't keep it in the capsule

form?

I guess it is just a matter of preferences on how one wants to take the

medication!
