Guest guest
Hi Lottie, Thank you for compiling this list and for the wonderful support you have been to CML patients everywhere. We will have to work together on this list. I did a quick check in my Zero Club data base and found 145 CMLers that have been diagnosed at least 10 years ago. They are all members of the Zero Club. I'm still in the early planning stages of a Zero Club celebration and would be thrilled if you would help. This is a powerful tribute to all our warriors. I want to thank everyone who has supported me in all my times of sickness as well as times of wellness, you have been encouraging and understanding. I cannot leave out our members who have passed the 10-yr. mark. If you haven't been mentioned, it's because we don't know about your success yet, but we want everyone to know who you are, so just let me know and I will add you to the list, you are all important. You don't have to have a Zero number, that's Zavie's department, but I volunteered to do this one. Have you noticed, we had a banner year in 2000 with 8 members, what a coincidence. Five in 1999 follow with the most numbers after that. The one we need to be most proud of is Skip, no one will ever top him, because he will go on ad infinitum. Let us keep in mind our long time members, Bob and Margot Menfee who are getting treatment for secondary cancers, that they can get through these dark days. We miss not seeing them post regularly, but we wish them well and remember them in our daily prayers, they are not forgotten. I pay tribute to you all, you are all winners to me. Remember that when we were diagnosed, five years was the max for most of us, so we haven't done too badly. Praise the Lord and pass the Gleevec! If you would like me to announce our BMT patients, I will begin with Don Atkins who was transplanted in 9/04. The rest of you can chime in with your name and date of transplant and I will add you to the list. I know Judy Telford is one, but I don't have her BMT date. Also if you want me to write in your state instead of your country of origin, I can do that, too as I already started with those whom I knew where they lived.
