Guest guest
Awwwww, ((((Colleen and Jake)))). It always sucks when the OCD comes back strong. Been there. The one thought that I've clung to in the past when we've had a relapse, is that it got better before and it will again. It just takes time. That waiting and trying different things is awful though. Is he on meds? As our son got bigger he needed to up his dose. Just a thought. BJ > > My name is Colleen. Guest guest
Oh Colleen, I can imagine how hard this is, to " go back " after all the progress! Maybe with the knowledge that he got past this before, it'll help him know he CAN again make progress and maybe it'll even be at a faster pace. (we can all hope!) My son (almost 19) struggles with scrupulosity/bad thoughts and it is hard to watch/hear. For him, though, from his viewpoint, the OCD just makes his thoughts worse/repetitive but the thoughts are " him. " (anyway, long story) Those " kill " thoughts must have been so horrifying to him when they began -- can he handle/understand them better after all the therapy/work, are they still as distressing to him (versus just he hates them, depressed they're back sort of thing)? I've been lucky in that I have always had a " bit of OCD " but can shrug off thoughts, compulsions, never has gotten out of control (cross fingers, knock on wood!) (((hugs))) > > My name is Colleen. Guest guest
Hi Colleen My heart goes out to you, because I feel that only a parent that has actually experienced this nightmare truly knows how you feel. My ds(6) has the " bad thoughts " also. I swear, with everything I have gone through with my kids, these " thoughts " are the worst nightmare imaginable. Is he on any meds?
