Guest guest
, Our local doctor put my son on Nexium, as she said, to " protect " his stomach while on I.V. Rocephin. He wasn't having any trouble with his stomach (though he had tons of gastro troubles before getting proper dx and treatment) -- since starting the Nexium, he has complained of his stomach hurting. I'm sure it's the Nexium...haven't given it to him the past two days, and he said this morning his stomach pain has let up and his nausea is gone. Must be something to it! I agree about possibly considering Pepcid -- it seems to do the job most of the time when my son is having trouble with heartburn and/or indigestion. What fun for a kid of age 15, huh? Geeze...I hate this disease!!!! Take care, everybody ~ Judie
Guest guest
Wow -- lobster sitting in the fridge for more than .003 seconds really IS a sure sign that you were sick! I think that should be included in the notes describing what this potent drug can do! ha! Take care, and thanks for sharing...we really do learn from each other, that's for sure... ~ Judie

Must be something > to it! That stuff is evil! LOL It made me SO sick that I couldn't eat but a bite or 2 a day. Literally. We had Lobster for my BD dinner and the leftovers sat in my fridge for 4 days. I am a seafood fiend and for it to sit, especially Lobster, for more than .003 seconds without being devoured, then ya know I am a sick puppy LOL Like your son, it took me 2 days to recover from being on that stuff. Thanks for the info, take care,
Guest guest
> > Hi > I am taking nexium for Barretts oesaphagus and sore throat and have been on the diet for a month although I can only tolerate 1 tablespoon of coconut oil. Should I go off the nexium now or wait until more of my symptoms have cleared up? > Love reading all your info on your site +++Hi Nicky. It is very difficult to stop taking Nexium, because when you do your stomach revolts by producing tons of acid. There are many people who successfully got off Nexium by eating unpasteurized sauerkraut - so do this as soon as you can: 1) Buy lots of good unpasteurized sauerkraut or make it yourself - recipe is on my website. 2) Stop taking Nexium, and that same day eat 1/2 cup of sauerkraut with every meal, and also take 1-2 tablespoons of sauerkraut every time your stomach hurts. You'll have to plan on taking a jar of sauerkraut with you everywhere you go. 3) Continue having 1/2 cup of sauerkraut with every meal and take 1-2 tbsp. every time your stomach hurts for at least 3 weeks - it usually takes that long for most people to not have over production of stomach acid. The reason sauerkraut works is because it automatically lowers stomach acid if it is too high. All the best, Bee
Guest guest
Dear Neal, When my husband has expensive drugs that VA won't pay for, I order them from Global in Canada. For comparison, Nexium 40 mg. (90 pills) costs $ 494 in U.S. In Canada, they cost $63, plus $6.95 shipping. One package arrives from Holland and the other from Germany. Guest guest
Hi , Yep I experienced the very same thing. I now use Prilosec and it works great for me--I have been using it for 2 years now and will probably use it the rest of my life. My doctor prescribed it for me and I get the Generic brand with a prescription and it cost less that the Over The Counter here in the US. I just pay my co-pay and that is $5.00. I am not sure how your insurance works in Canada. I know of other people also who didn't do well on Nexium. So go ahead and try Prilosec, and I was able to swallow the Prilosec so that worked out well for me and I only take it once a day and I take mine in the mornings. Guest guest
I use Prilosec. I crushed the pills using a pill crusher and added to about an ounce of water. Did not dissolve so I just gulped it down. I took all my meds the same way.Marilou Sent from Marilou's iPadOn Oct 3, 2010, at 12:33 PM, <movie_mommy@...> wrote: Okay so the Nexium here in Canada is not like the stuff they give you in Mexico and it does not dissolve well and leaves a gross taste in my mouth. and I don't think it works as well either. I just had surgery Sept 28 and only have 8 days left of the Nexium Mups. Did anyone else experience this and use something else like Tecta or Prilosec? And because the stuff is not suppose to be disolves did you swallow a pill that quick after surgery? If anyone has any advice I would love to hear it.
