Guest guest
Thanks Avis, I am back home, too quickly, I'm sorry to say, so I didn't get your message in time as I didn't have computer access. Now that you remind me I seem to remember that there are some computers at Rotary House. I've only stayed there once and I found it a little pricey. Good to know every resource from computers to room rates and shuttle buses if you are going to be there a while. Once I had to send a fax and the volunteer in the library/fax room/computer room in the hospital asked what I needed. I told the man there I needed to send a fax and he looked at the paper and me rather strangely and wanted to know which " side " I wanted to send. The gentleman was a tall elderly army officer in the German army. Seems like I had to copy some information instantly and grabbed the first and only piece of used paper I had. My message was written in pencil. I remember the incident now, my car license had expired and I had to get another presto, so I called the State of LA and she dictated a Power of Attorney that I had to send to my son to get my license renewed. What a mess that was, but it was all taken care of in due time. While my son was waiting in line to pick up my tag, his wife called to say she was bitten by a snake. He broke ranks and asked if he could see someone immediately and told them what he was there for and they just handed him my new tag. It was not a poisonous snake, but a big one, a Blue Runner or Whipping Snake as we sometimes call it. It came in through the doggie door. That was a day to remember, because their neighbor got involved, too. He came over and killed it and cut it in pieces to fit in a plastic bag & stayed with her until my son got home to bring she and the snake to ER. Thank you Avis, I will keep that in mind when I need a computer, the one in the hospital is always in use. I have used it, but not often. We haven't heard from you in a while, took that to get you out of the bulrushes! Wishing you the best, as always. Carpe diem, Lottie Duthu
