Guest guest
"I see one of our members send a "yikes" about this article. All of the specialists that I have been in contact with are aware of this. Some have started a novel approach with the administration of Tenovir and Atripla as I have for over three years, a the suggestion of my doctor from San .I take Atripla: five days a week. The drug had a long life in the body and it does not seem to matter..What matters is when the five doses are taken. I take the medication on Tuesday,Wed, Friday and Saturday and Sunday. Monday and Thursday are offdays. My kidney functions are normal.Talk with you Doctors about this. I am a long term survivor and would never play Russian Roulette with my health.Regards to all and be sure to register to vote for the November elections."I think that's a very interesting idea about reducing Tenofovir exposure. We all knew this was out there, but it seems worse than imagined.Voting may be even more important. A party that is warring against birth control does not have HIV medications as a priority.JB
Guest guest
This idea of continuously taking the drug cocktail, but excluding 1,2, or even 3 days per week is an intriguing one. My best friend takes the Sustiva/Epzicom combination almost on alternate days only. He has been doing that for years now, and his numbers are excellent, in the high 700´s, and always undetectable. I wonder if there is some research being done on this continuous but intermittent method. It does make sense to me, given the pharmacodynamics of these drugs.
