Guest guest
Hi Everyone, Tried to look up Jeanetta Mastron's Pharmacology book, and discovered you need to indicate Mike ston as the author. Although he is not the true author, this is the only way to find Jeanetta's book. I guess his name is on five other books also where he is not the true author. Kinda of confusing as generally the author's name appears on the cover, but in this case the name of the individual who financed the book appears on the book cover. May lead others to actually believe Mike ston as the author. I'm sure this was unintentional. Joe Medina, CPhT -------------- Pharmacy Technician Series Pharmacology by Mike ston Key features of Pharmacy Technician Series: Pharmacology: * Workplace Wisdoms—providing advice from seasoned pharmacy technicians * Profiles in Practice—functioning as practical exercises that simulate real-world pharmacy problems * Chapter Reviews—assessing concept comprehension * Practice Examples—serving as case studies for actual practice settings * Step-by-step direction for compounding and sterile products Contents 1. Guest guest
I can't say how the credits are listed for the Pharmacology book, but the other books in the series that were printed before the NPTA convention in July had Mike as the author of the series, and each individual book had a list of contributing authors inside. Guest guest
Mr Joe Medina, This is a FIRST! I HAVE never BEEN CALLED A LIAR on my own site. And in my lifetime I think I can date back being called a liar to childhood squabbles between my sister and I. I am considered among my peers as an upstanding, open and honest individal with high integrity. I will not DIGNIFY your questions with my comments. But I will remove your posts if you continue to badger me or continue to discuss Mr Mike ston or any one else in bad light. This is NOT the first time we have had these go arounds. Let me set this straight. I have never said I am the sole author. I have said I am a 'Key' author. You say Mr ston is not an author. I have stated that he is the developer, and as such he has written some in each of the 6 books that he has developed. That makes him an author. That is all I need to say. You continue to find fault with everything Mike ston does. Therefore you continue to fault others who are associated with him or NPTA. Therefore I will never be in good graces with you, since I am an author of one of these books. Fine! So be it. But you will never again sir, disrespect me on my site. Do it where ever you want but not on my site! You WILL continue to draw your conclusions, but you will not post them on this site, because they are negative and hurtful. I thought you respected me more than this. Your usual conduct after this type of post and my warning is to leave the group. Let it be known that I am not asking or telling you to leave. Your input in regards to education and preparation for PTCB and industry news that can and has helped many techniciansa and is desireable. But negative criticism is not. Be forwarned. Your highly negative comments are going to be removed. If you continue to post in this fashion about ANYONE or ANY ORGANIZATION YOU WILL BE Banned. If you wish to leave the group this is YOUR choice. Sincerely, Jeanetta Mastron CPhT BS Pharm Tech Educator Founder/Owner of this site > Hi Jeanetta, > > Are you sure you wrote this book? It appears Mike ston is being > recognized as the author. Guest guest
Thank you Anne, for your comments. The pharmacology book is the same way. I have only seen 3 of the 6 books. Logistically one can not name multiple authors on a cover, just not enough room! It very much concerns me when the topic of this site is NOT about helping technicians. Whether or not my name is on the cover does not lessen my input in the book. And it does not prepare a technician for the PTCB study or exam. I am saddened with all that you are going through that this would be something that you would find on my site and feel the need to comment on. I am sorry. Please send us an update on your situation and let us know if this community can help. Guest guest
Hi Jeanetta, As usual you take offense because you do not see that I am trying to establish that you should be getting credit where credit is deserved. You ARE the author that put countless hours of work into the preparation of this book. You ARE the one who will NOT receive recognition deserved, but also compensation deserved as well. Yet, I am being negative because I am informing your forum members that something is not right. As an outspoken advocate of our profession, NPTA must have something over you because it so unlike you to accept what is being dished out. So in conclusion, we will simply say your name was not on the book because there was not enough room and all is good. Wakeup Jeanetta, this is your great moment as an author and you let an organization decide to make their leader the great author and star. Guest guest
Hi, Shirley, thanks! To keep them live, just place each rod in a plastic bag should do it, no need to disassemble anything. I will post a warning to not put the thing on a stainless steel sink or something conductive like that or it will drain fast. bG > > BG, you have done it again!! Congratulations. And to prevent battery drain we just take off the sponges?? Can't wait to try this. It will be just great for teeth, gums, sinuses and behind the ear and such like. > Out of curiosity, can this be done using things other than batteries? I am thinking of dissimilar metals, but I recall you mentioning once that if batteries were unavailable you could use several lemons or maybe it was potatoes or some such as a source for current. That was interesting too. Again, congratulations. pj >
Guest guest
First, I would like to congratulate Doris on all of those zeroes. They make me mighty envious from my position here. LOL Secondly, I would like to commend you on taking care of first things first and tending to your weight problem. Some of us have tried to lose weight and couldn't, so maybe this will be encouragement to try your approach. Sometimes I find myself getting really angry that leukemia has taken my former life away from me, but that is the hand I was dealt, so I have to live with it, like it or not. For me there is no liking it or leaving it, just status quo, but I can to the best I can with what I have got. (I like cliches). While we are on the subject of depletion of vitamins, I am a strong believer of getting your Vitamin D checked out. I take Vitamin D3, which covers a duplicity of health problems and more than making strong bones. My endocrinologist prescribed a 50,000 IU capsule once a month about 2 years ago and I had a newfound interest in checking out what this powerful vitamin plays in our health. The monograth in the package's suggested use is to strengthen your bones, but it is a powerful hormone that is needed by your thyroids and parathyroids. I know there is someone in our group who has a problem with their parathroyds and I thought of her when my doctor told me yesterday that my Vitamin D was taking care of not only my thyroids but my parathyroids as well and he was happy and wanted to keep me healthy. I laughed out loud and said, " You think I am healthy? " He responded by saying he knew that I had gone to hell and back in a handbasket, but was surprised that I had survived and he was happy with that. So listen up folks, have your thyroids checked and take your Vitaman 3D religiously, we want you to be healthy and happy at the same time. LOL I want to thank everyone who brings their issues to us, because sometimes it affects some of our readers who have not expressed their problem before the group. We have the answers if you have the questions, right? Carpe Diem, Lottie Duthu Vitamin D3 consultant (LOL)
