CML alive, and changing medications. YIKES

Hi Everyone.......been a long time since I have posted here. I have had quite a

CML ride, and now I've hit a speed bump. Seems Gleevec has stopped working for

me, and I am now having seizures that the doctors feel are being caused by the

medication. I am currently trying to get approved for Sprycel......insurance

companies are horrid. I'm obviously nervous about the issues, changes and

ramifications of it all. I have had a relatively easy time with the CML and

Gleevec for the last 7 years......not sure what went wrong. Any advice on

Sprycel would sure be appreciated.

On a happier note: My son Brent turned 3 in October and is such a joy. Gives

me all the reason I need to fight this stupid disease more than ever. My love

and blessings to everyone.

Hi Amy:  I cannot give any advice on the Sprycel, as I have only been on

Gleevec since 2000.  It has done its job for me, but my prayers will go out for

you to find the right treatment for you.  The good news is that we do have

other choices, and if the Sprycel is not right you still have other choices.

Oh no.

I remember talking to you a few years ago, while you were still pregnant with

Brent!!!

I can not help with you, I have never been on Sprycel. I have been on Gleevec

since 2003, it will be 7 years for me on Thanksgiving day. Keep the faith, that

Sprycel will work, or that this is just a little speed bump with Gleevec, I pray

that you will continue to have

  " relatively easy time with the CML "   Please keep us updated.
