Hi Ellen,

They are an investment. If you have a Costco, they sometimes promote them and

maybe have a better price....or I would really research on the net (look for

juicers & blenders) and you might find a discount. I got mine at least 10 years

ago and I don't think they had different models. Mine is basic, with on/off and

variable speed dial. I think the new container might be as large but shorter? to

fix under a cabinet. There is an advertisement that shows the blender chopping

up a hunk of a 2x4.

For prep......if not organic, I might peel. I do take the outside off the

pineapple (but not every little eye), remove seeds from apples (contain a little

arsenic), and just use a vegetable brush on other veggies. The things I love to

eat, like avocado (guacamole) I don't put in the blender! same with a lot of

fruit....I enjoy eating out of hand. You can easily find veg. wash products to

remove surface wax, pesticides, etc.

How are you doing Ellen? nice to see you posting.

We have the Jack La Lane juicer and we find it very very easy to clean. We

watched the commercial on TV and got hooked.

Cleaning is very easy.We have the stainless one.

and it is guaranteed for life.

Arsenic in apple seeds??????? yikes---I just juice them whole.

after juicing I put inblender with avacado, banana etc. my mixture is

different every day.

Hi ,

Thanks for the info. I've been looking at Costco. Maybe closer to the Holidays

they'll be more around. I think I'd get a lot of use from it. I'll look for

a veg wash, that should help.

I want it more for greens rather than fruit also. I eat lots of fruit anyway .

I'm doing well. Still on Gleevec, 10 years last July, hard to believe. The

CML'rs have come a long way since that trial. Amazing progress.

I'm glad to see that Tasigna is working for you and you're feeling well. You

have great info on staying healthy.

Hi Sharon,

Probably the little bit of arsenic won't hurt you at all.....there was a cml

treatment that used arsenic trioxide (I think).....Bobby might have been one who

tried that. But apples are easy to cut in half and pop the seeds out.

Thanks Sharon, I never thought of vinegar as a fruit wash. I use it to clean

and it works pretty well. I'm trying to stay away from chemical cleaners as

much as possible. Ellen

When i get home from the grocery store I get a big bowl fill the bowl with

water and vinegar, was all my fruits and veggies in the water/vinegar mixture,

then I will rinse with water. We know that once its in the fridge, that it is

washed and ready to eat.
