Guest guest
Bobby, I was thinking the same thing. The discomfort could be caused from an enlarged spleen. Guest guest
Hi Tracey, I checked out side pain on Google, even went to sites dealing with Crohn's , IBS and diverticulitis, I have none of those symptoms but think my problem might be related to something similar. Guest guest
Would labs show if there was a spleen problem? I had labs done yesterday, they were great. HGB is a bit low, 10.7, but stays in the 10's for months. Plts. 168, wbc 6.7, all average since I have been on Ariad. Bobby a ( Bobby ) Doyle, dob 12/17/29 DX 5/1995 Interferon 9 weeks/Hydroxyurea 5 years 02/2000 to 06/2002 Gleevec trial, OHSU 06/2002 Gleevec/Trisenox Trial, OHSU 06/2003 Gleevec/Zarnestra Trial, OHSU 04/2004 Sprycel Trial, MDACC, CCR in 10 months 04/2008 XL228 Trial, U of Mich. 01/2009 PCR 5.69 04/2009 Ariad Trial AP24534 09/2009 PCR 0.01 11/2009 PCR 0.034 02/2010 PCRU #840 Zavie's Zero Club From: traceyincanada <traceyincanada@...> Subject: [ ] Re: side pain Date: Tuesday, November 9, 2010, 8:40 AM  Hi Bobby, Your spleen in on your left side. Guest guest
Bobby, I know a couple of folks in the Ariad trial at UCSF who have had unexplained pains in their sides. Very uncomfortable, but it comes and goes. I hope whatever the cause, the pain goes away soon. Not fun! Guest guest
Hi , every morning I have an Activia and 13 gr. All Bran Bran Buds. And every night I have the same thing for a snack. Don't think fiber is the problem, unless I am no getting enough water. I feel better already today and think the problem is minor, and gone, thanks everyone for your help. Bobby a ( Bobby ) Doyle, dob 12/17/29 DX 5/1995 Interferon 9 weeks/Hydroxyurea 5 years 02/2000 to 06/2002 Gleevec trial, OHSU 06/2002 Gleevec/Trisenox Trial, OHSU 06/2003 Gleevec/Zarnestra Trial, OHSU 04/2004 Sprycel Trial, MDACC, CCR in 10 months 04/2008 XL228 Trial, U of Mich. 01/2009 PCR 5.69 04/2009 Ariad Trial AP24534 09/2009 PCR 0.01 11/2009 PCR 0.034 02/2010 PCRU #840 Zavie's Zero Club From: hey00nanc <ncogan@...> Subject: [ ] Re: side pain Date: Tuesday, November 9, 2010, 1:29 PM  > > Right on, I am thinking of ignoring it, maybe it will just go away on it's own. Bobby __________________________ Hi Bobby, I am on a different drug (Tasigna x 9 mo) but have had several odd episodes of left side pain that last about 2 days. I was concerned it might be from the pancreas, which can be affected by Tasigna.......but then it was more likely in the small intestine. I noticed it when I felt a little constipated. Try eating more fiber if you do not get alot.....use ground flax seed or whatever you prefer, and that might help. The reason it hurts more when you take a deep breath, is that your diaphragm moves downward and puts more pressure on everything below it. My alternative chiro thought that it was probably just a little toxins (from our drug) irritating the small intestine. Always better to move stuff through your GI system more quickly. C.
