Guest guest
> > Do the proton pump inhibitors impede Sprycel? --------------------------- Hi Carl, If you go to Jerry's website (www. newcmldrug.com) and do a search, you will find some information (maybe on CML Talk). Jerry had an issue with this (and he is under Dr. Talpaz's care). I think the drug he had trouble with was Tasigna...that when he started a proton pump inhibitors his pcr went up. If I wrote Sprycel before that was probably in error. Tasigna needs to be taken on am empty stomach, so I think it needs the acid. Sprycel is taken with food, so it probably is a different situation. My esophagus and stomach were torn up on 800mg of Gleevec, confirmed by endoscopy....and the gastroenterologist wanted me to go on a proton pump inhibitor. My naturopath said 'not necessary and not generally a good thing' so we treated it by alkaline diet and some supplements and when the gastro. re-did the endoscopy one year later....he said 'good job, just stay on the medication' which of course I had never taken! ps Bobby....I also have a hiatal hernia and actually know exactly when it developed (when I was on Gleevec and very bloated, I felt it develop). I was sitting with friends in a play and could not really do anything but it was a very strange feeling. C.
Guest guest
Hi, turtle: Hope you are feeling well. What alkaline supplements would you recommend? Take care, Carl ________________________________ From: hey00nanc <ncogan@...> Sent: Thu, October 21, 2010 11:13:09 AM Subject: [ ] Proton pump - Carl > > Do the proton pump inhibitors impede Sprycel? --------------------------- Hi Carl, If you go to Jerry's website (www. newcmldrug.com) and do a search, you will find some information (maybe on CML Talk). To first turn my esophagus/stomach situation around, I used a product by Garden of Life called Acid Defense. I would mix it up (in warm water) before bed and sometimes again in the AM. Sprouted seeds and nuts are alkaline, as well as many foods. If you don't like eating 'greens' you can easily do a blender drink and add the greens to pre-made carrot juice or apple juice. For me, it really settles my stomach. I am doing well on Tasigna, for almost 9 mo now. I hope you are doing well on your medication. C.
