Last night I was awake most of the night with pain associated with the Neupogen injections. My nurse finally took over and gave me an IV pain med. It worked because I don't remember much after that. They let me sleep in till 9:00 without vitals. I asked my doctor about it today and he thinks it's some kind of inflammation but I can't take any inflammatories because my platelets are too low. He assured me that this too will only last a couple days. I think it has to do with the neupogen injections because that's when the pain begins. Tonight it's not near as bad as last night. I have the same nurse and she said that she will give me the same pain med right away instead of trying oral medicine first. It looks like I will need platelets daily for a couple weeks yet. This week could be the week that Kim's cells take over. And when they do, it will make all my other counts increase as well. I can't wait!!
