Guest guest
Hi Colleen--just a question. Did they treat him with any meds after taking him off Celexa while he was inpatient last year? Or was it just therapy? I see that it helped him for about 6 mos. Did the thoughts go away entirely or was he better able to manage them? My DD (12) has obsessive thoughts about vomiting. They are debilitating. We never got to therapy because she was hospitalized and it was life threatening (couldn't eat for fear of vomiting) so she's been on meds for 5 years. She's had ups and downs and a couple of med. changes, but when her meds are working well, she doesn't have any bad thoughts for weeks and then maybe a mild one that goes away quickly. It's not the continual thoughts she has without medication. She is a happy, normally functioning 7th grader. I hope whatever you decide helps him soon. I can only imagine what our kids suffer with this barrage of thoughts all day long. Take care, Dina
