Guest guest
Thank you Lottie for the website. I am not computer savy and probably wouldn't have found it. I met Bernie Siegel at a Counseling Conference. He was our main speaker. He had us close our eyes as he spoke the words that were on one of his tapes. All of us reacted with chills because his words were so powerful I bought the tapes and the book, " Love, Medicine, & Miracles " . Seeing he has a call in number that was on the website, some members might want to call and talk to him. Sandi > > Sandi, I am a great admirer of Dr. Segal, as I said before in earlier posts. I was first introducted to his books by a nurse friend (Love, Medicine & Miracles). She bought the set of tapes along with one of his books and used it just to lend to people who had cancer, even her pastor. I looked for everything postive that I could find, it mattered not what kind of cancer it was, it was just what I was dealing with and cancer is just what it is - cancer. > > Here is a website with a little information about him and his present work. If anyone has read books that have helped them in their journey, please share it with us. There is someone out there who is not now where you are and it would shed more light and less confusion on living with cancer. Amongst ourselves, we always refer to it as CML, like a connotation that has less consequences than other cancers. For newcomers, it doesn't make it less scary and they will be grateful for a few crumbs we can throw out if that is all we have to give of our knowledge, it is more than what they knew before. I think people want to see comparisons, like where you were when you were diagnosed and where you are today in contrast, so it takes some of the edge off and softens the blow of diagnosis, that we are living with it and it is possible to be in a chronic stage for a long time, while waiting for a cure. Yeah for Bernie. > > http://www.berniesiegelmd.com/ > > FYI, > Lottie Duthu > > > >
Guest guest
Hi: I thought I would get in on the Bernie Siegel topic. When I was first diagnosed, one of the doctors I worked for told me right away that I need to read Bernie Siegel's books. I did read Love, Medicine and Miracles. I do not remember the title of the other one. I lent them to a friend, and never got them back. Sorry she did not return them because I would have re-read them years later or passed them onto someone that I could have helped. It really did a lot for me at that time not understanding CML, or the fact that I myself was diagnosed with it. Thank You for the website info.
