Guest guest
Shin pain is common and so many things can it that I'm not sure what to say, Carol. I don't suspect the meds. Could it be that you are using the muscles in your lower legs in a way that you usually don't (while you're helping your mother)? Different shoes? This article is entitled " Running Injuries " from the Podiatry Channel talks about injuries to that area: http://www.podiatrychannel.com/runninginjuries/ " Shin Splints: Understanding Shin Pain " from Orthopedics.About.com: http://orthopedics.about.com/cs/sportsmedicine/a/shinsplint.htm I know if your foot starts to flatten you can experience shin pain. Of course, the inflammation you have due to your RA adds to the equation. Could plantar fasciitis be an issue? I'm not sure about the source of your pain, but I hope it goes away! If not, go see your rheumatologist when you get back. [ ] Shin pain I have a quick question. I am having pain in my shins, and this is something I've never had before. I'm up and down from the floor a lot, taking care of my mom, but I'm not sure how it would cause this. Is there anything with the RA that could cause this? Could it be a side effect of one of my medications? or a? Anyone? It's a pretty sharp pain. I can't decide if I have nodules. There are a couple of lumps, but not too pronounced. Thanks, as always, for help with my questions. Love and hugs, Carol
Guest guest
Carol they told me my shin pain (SEVERE!) is due to Enthosopy... I may have murdered the spelling on that one! But it is where the " tendons & ligaments JOIN the bone " , and they are literally " eating away the bone " ... or so they SAY that is what is wrong with me for the " BONE PAIN " . Especially in shins. Susie Carol wrote: > I have a quick question. I am having pain in my shins, and this is > something I’ve never had before. Guest guest
Hi Susie, Thanks for the info. I’ll have to look it up if I have the symptoms again. For the time being it seems to have cleared up, thank God. It certainly was painful, though, and I’m sorry you have to go through it on top of everything else. Love and hugs, Carol Re: [ ] Shin pain Carol they told me my shin pain (SEVERE!) is due to Enthosopy... I may have murdered the spelling on that one! Guest guest
Hi, I am wondering if any one can tell me the cause of severe shin pain, mainly at night when i go to bed. I have both RA and osti. As soon as I go to bed and try to get comfortable the pain in my shins from knee to ankle starts. It doesn't seem to matter which way i lie. I have tried lying all ways and nothing seems to make a difference except to get up.Almost as soon as I get up the pain seems to disappear only to reoccur when I finally go back to bed.
