Guest guest
I know there is someone here who has lung cancer and may appreciate this information. " Proton beam therapy deposits most of the radiation inside the tumor, rather than allowing it to escape through the rest of the body. In inoperable lung cancer, it is providing dramatically better survival rates than even stereotactic radiotherapy, which targets the beam. Small tumors in the lung are an ideal application of this strategy. They can be targeted while controlling for the movements of breathing, and eliminated without surgery.
