Guest guest
I find it encouraging that even in midlife one can recover. I've heard this from others. Someone who struggled with lyme for 10 years taking many abx and antimalarials and slowly improving. Said for years even so had such fatigue had to nap 3 hours in afternoon, and is okay now. Can you imagine if I could get so rid of allergies and have a dog?!?! > > > Yes- this was the case for me. > > > > > > I had years of chemical and metal sensitivities (along with the > noise > > > and light intolerance) and I had what seemed like food allergies - > > > and some allergies to outside substances- getting worse as time > wore > > > on (and I do mean WORE on). > > > > > > After my abx therapy all those are gone- and I mean ALL of them. > > > > > > I'm drinking beer and alcohol again after about a 15 year hiatus > > > (as it worsened my ever present headache). > > > > > > (And I know 2 people who got rid of their kids allergies with a > short > > > course of tetracycline). > > > > > > Barb
Guest guest
xristiva abx=antibiotics as long as you still have infection you should take them otherwise your head turns to mush. I think the deviated septum is just the tip of the iceberg, when we talk about our sinus problems. tony > > > Yes- this was the case for me. > > > > > > Barb > > > > > --------------------------------- >

Under messages in the upper left corner you can bring up a page with a new search box. Type in Allergy or Allergies and you will bring up a list of items we have discussed about this complex issue. I just answered another of this question about 2 weeks ago in great detail so that should bring you up to speed. #11727 in that listing goes into these details. Guest guest
Hi Emma, In response to your's and Bee's postings: - Feeling unwell is hard, I know, both physically and on the morale. Hang in there, you will indeed get better. So many of us can vouch for this. - I just re-read the file " Allergies - What They Are & How To Treat Them " ... it's really very good. I totally agree that following its instructions, especially in the section " How to Treat Allergies " , will allow your body to heal. I did what the two-part instructions list (1. diet; 2. environment), and it made a big, big difference; still does. - At one point, the article mentions: " When the immune system is incapable of working up to par it results in a total breakdown... " - This is what happened to me, resulting in severe environmental allergies; I was quite unwell... felt like my body was almost like a universal reactor. Could not even be in any dwelling without major major reactions; had to sleep outdoors for 2 weeks... (Since, I have been living in a good, safe place, and it's wonderful.) - The 1st thing the enviro. MD I saw recommended is a good diet (same as Bee's) in order to start the healing right away... this, even before I could find a suitable accomodation. Now, I find it easy to see the direct correlation: - I follow the diet, I improve and feel great; - I go astray, I don't feel good and my body starts reacting more to environmental toxins. End of story (for me); I don't have to look further. - I used the word " allergies " loosely. To me, it doesn't matter, really; what I find important is what happens, results. All I know is that at the worst of the situation, when my body was in total crisis, I reacted so severely to many things that, like Bee, I could eat very little food. Following all the instructions in the Allergy file (diet, clean environment, etc.) healed my body to the point where I now eat a lot of good foods without the reactions my body had in previous years. My diet is varied and I am still re-integrating other good foods as well as trying new ones (that's fun!). I even like the taste of coconut oil, and I previously loathed even the very thought of eating it... :- D Hope this helps, Emma. Reading the " Allergy " files, following the instructions, and seeing how the body heals is a good idea... saved me. Best of success and best in health. Fran :- )

Guest guest
Tamara. Wiping your cat down everyday with distilled water will help cut down the dander. But I bet curing the candida will make the allergy disappear entirely. In the meantime, garlic snizzles are a big help in alleviating any congestion from allergies...and coconut oil and clove tea have done wonders for mine (mostly pollens). Ellen [ ] allergies I finally was able to see and allergist, and he tested me and confirmed my worst suspicions: I am allergic to my dear, loving cat. I am also allergic to dust mites and mold. And especially to pollen.

But I bet curing the candida will make the allergy disappear entirely. Wiping animals down with dryer sheets (weird as it sounds) will work too. Vacuuming often and not allowing the cat in the room where you sleep will help too ('til you can get the candida cured.) Guest guest
I've always been allergic to animals but having them around reduces my allergy! I know, that doesn't make sense, but I was e-mailed this info a while back, which explains why: " Jen, I can explain to you a bit about why your alergies were better and then got worse once you had left the farm and [months later] went [horse] riding. This is what they call the Thanksgiving syndrome. You see, when you are gently exposed to things that you are allergic to your body builds up its immune system ~ like a tight fortress. Now when you move away or are no longer around the allergy nothing really changes. You body still has that allergy to what ever. Only now that you are no longer around the allergen your body lets down its guard. Therefore upon reexposure to the allergens, all of those nasty allergens are able to sneak into the fortress very quickly full of force and they nearly knock you for a loop. Thanksgiving syndrome got its name from college students that would move away from home to go to school. They were very seldom sick while growing up. Then upon arrival back home for the holidays they get really sick. When they go to the doctor for tests, etc that is when they learn all of the things that they grew up around that they are allegic to. .... A couple of things that you can do to help yourself to keep the immune system up to par is to rexpose yourself to the things you know that you are allergic to. Just a little bit at a time. Eventually you will have a tight handle on the allergy. It won't be gone, but it will be manageable. I have done this over the years and it really does work. " Hope this helps a little and I hope you can keep your cat and manage the allergy. There's a pre-made dog and cat food for raw with the brand name Primal Pet: http://www.primalpetfoods.com I fed it to my dog with excellent results. I've heard good things about their cat formula too. I find the pre-made stuff much easier to work with. Guest guest
That makes sense. I went out of town last summer, and when I returned to my cat last fall I got a terrible sinus infection. A remedy for hayfever is to take local bee pollen as a supplement all year, especially in the winter. That way your body is used to it when the flowers bloom. - T > > I finally was able to see and allergist, and he tested me and > confirmed my worst suspicions: I am allergic to my dear, loving cat. > > > Hi Tamara, > Some folks find that they are no longer allergic to their > animals when they change the pet's diet to a more natural one. > Especially, no grains for cats & dogs. Guest guest
Hi Tamara, Take heart. When I had 365 () allergies back in the 80's I learned that all I had to do is give my cat a bath once a month and brush them well when I see loose hair. When you wash your cat just remember to already have warm (not hot) wash & rinse waters poured into sinks or sink liners (like you use for dishes), deep enough to come up above their tummy but not above their chest. Pour wash & rinse waters over their back gently with a cup or other container. Wash their front with your hand. If you want to wash their face use a damp cloth, avoiding their nose. During the process, talk calmly and gladly to them. Brush them gently in a petting motion and have plenty of dry towels to dry and swaddle them when they get out. I usually use 2-4 bath size towels per cat. Hold them gently by the back of the neck if it looks like they are going to bolt. If your cat is particularly afraid of water, take the precaution of clipping their nails and wearing thick clothing for protection. I find though, that if I talk to them, the water is warm and I avoid running water from the faucet, (and running children) they enjoy their baths. --nh " Tamara " wrote: > > I think not allowing the cat to sleep with me will be the hardest > thing for me to do. I used it for my son and my daughter and it helped them sleep alot better at night when their allergies were bad. I bought mine at Vitamin Shoppe but they sell it in various places...here is a link describing the product. http://www.xlear.com/xlear/aboutXlear.aspx HTH, Suzanne =) Libby <Libby4@...> wrote: Hello, was needing some suggestions for a natural way to help my son with allergies.
