Guest guest
Have you considered NAET? www.naet.com I think some folks have found dye-free benedryl helpful. S S Does anyone have any recommendations of what to give for seasonal outdoor allergies? Our ASD daughter can not take any conventional antihistamines, and the red circles under eyes, nasty behavior have all surfaced. Any thoughts would be so appreciated. Guest guest
> > Does anyone have any recommendations of what to give for seasonal outdoor allergies? OLE eliminated this problem for me. Some of my " seasonal allergies " were actually food intolerances, and digestive enzymes eliminated those. But the ones that were caused by pollen etc, were eliminated with OLE. Guest guest
Hi! We use Vit C and olive leaf....not sure how long it takes but it does make things a lot better....I would not use benedryl....have heard some nasties about it...and I know that it does cause some heavy duty nosebleeds at my house if given more than once or twice...sometimes once...the only way we could use it all was to add gelatin as in jello or knox....or gelatin caps. I understand you can twirl a Q-tip with vaseline like thing in the nose to keep it lubricated...but that usually made them sneeze which in turn made them have more nosebleeds if that was an issue at the time. just my two cents. > Does anyone have any recommendations of what to give for seasonal outdoor allergies? Guest guest
Vitamin C and pantothenic acid, given frequently, every 3 hours if possible are great for allergies. It takes awhile but it works and doesn't just mask the allergy. Make sure that Vitamin A levels are high and E is also said to help downregulate allergies. Other people have used Quercetin and Nettle Leaf and found relief. [ ] Re: allergies Hi! Guest guest
Has anyone had any experiences with allergies getting better or worse while taking LDN? Also, has anyone had experience with allergic reactions to LDN itself, or to one of the fillers? Thanks Aletha
Guest guest
My sister started on LDN last year and it immediately took her allergies away. Then she later went off it, the allergies reappeared and when she started LDN a second time, again, the allergies immediately ceased. She plans to stay on LDN now. Guest guest
I'm going back to re-run the same histamine prick tests I went through in Feb/Mar 2003, a month or so before starting LDN. So I'll have a medical picture comparison from pre-LDN til now. If there's a major notible difference, I'll be reporting it everywhere! Guest guest
I've been on LDN since Dec. 2004 and it hasn't helped my allergies. I had the prick test in 2006 and had to be off antihistamines for 10 days before testing and my histamine level was 9 on the (1-10 scale) and I reacted to every prick they did from 5's to 9's. I sure wish LDN would make all my allergies disappear and my reactions to barometric pressure! Guest guest
Sorry to hear.. maybe it's something else that you're unaware of? I also go to chiropractors, they help a lot also. One of my chiros does A-K on anything 'new' I want to try, or anything I think I may be getting a reaction from. Now that you mention barometric pressure... hmmm... I used to be able to predict precipitation 36-48 hours in advance, even better than weather.com; but I noticed after a while on LDN I couldn't do that any more. Actually, I think it was 2005 when I realized I hadn't had a wetweather headache in a long while. I've had 3 I think, one being that fast mover we had last month. I'll see how my results compare soon enough [low dose naltrexone] Re: Allergies I've been on LDN since Dec. 2004 and it hasn't helped my allergies. Guest guest
I have never really got colds and viruses, flu and such but the allergies progressed over the years along with going thru changes with the barometric pressure. I don't understand why some people feel it and others don't or do not know that is linked to what they are feeling. We have constant low pressure now where in the past did not. The dry air affects me also with this drought. Living in the desert would be torture. Guest guest
Rhonda - My SO reacted on the 9 -10 histimine pricks and then had immediate systemic reaction that freaked out the doctor and then went into an excerbation that we had to treat with Solumedral several weeks later because he wasn't pulling out of it. It was all very disturbing. More than likely because allergies are also so varied in how they affect people (another problem the doctors know nothing about and only treat symptoms) more than likely the LDN will be reacting differently with allergies. Guest guest
My seasonal allegies did improve quite a bit this year with the LDN. On the really bad days, one Claritan seemed to do the trick and most days I didn't need to take one. In prior years I really did suffer in the late spring to early fall. I have been on 3.0 for about 16 months. JoyceGet a sneak peek of the all-new AOL.com.
Guest guest
Ronda, Just for the heck of it, try looking up Apple Cider Vinegar and allergies. A couple of sites state that by taking this daily you can get rid of allergies. I don't have experience with it, but it might be worth giving a shot. Guest guest
Might want to research apple cider vinegar more. I read somewhere that was the worst thing to take if you have MS. Also, this newsletter mentions LDN - thought it might be of interest. Aletha Wittmann <Aletha@...> wrote: Ronda, Just for the heck of it, try looking up Apple Cider Vinegar and allergies. Guest guest
Hi, In regard to intradermal testing. Has anyone had this done and received any help from taking allergy shots if one tests positive to mold and mildew. I have the constant headaches and 15 or so years ago I was allergy tested for everything and gradually eliminated grass, trees and everything except mold and mildew. I moved to another State and had to quit. Am thinking about being tested again and maybe the allergy shots that I gave myself 2-3 times a week would help. People are talking about moving, etc but apparently allergy shots do not help anyone??? Any comments, Thanks, H,.
Guest guest
Allergy shots help me greatly. Having my immune system " hammered " by the mold exposure has made me very allergic. I take them every 3-4 days. I use shots for mold, all of the pollens, and canine when necessary as my doggy has " left " us. --- In , " Helen Woodward " <helen@...> wrote: > > Hi, > > In regard to intradermal testing. Guest guest
I take allergy shots. The mold threw my immune system so far out of whack that I became allergic to everything. The allergy shots have helped that part of this. Nort the mold part. I soon will be tested for molds though. ************************************** See what's new at http://www.aol.com
Guest guest
I am sure that many others have had great results with Allergy Shots as I initially did. I started with food shots then moved to pollens & grasses but when Molds were added to my twice weekly shots I became very chemically sensitive (Bubble Boy). Not knowing at the time that our home had a mold growth behind a bathroom tub (a plumbing error causing water to leak into the wall when the shower was used) once the mold was cleaned up and stopped taking allergy shots my chemical sensitivities improved by 80%. In discussion with Dr. Shoemaker years later, he stated that continually pumping Mycotoxins (Mold Allegy Shots)into a person's body might seem to help - it might also (As in my case) be that extra load that sends you over the edge. That must be why Dr. Shoemaker's approach is removal of Bio-toxins and treating body functions that are out of balance - and doesn't do any of the high-dollar allergy testing / treatment. Maybe I am just one in a million - but 4 years later my wife went chemically sensitive during testing in the doctor's office in a well- known Dallas clinic. --- In , " Helen Woodward " <helen@...> wrote: > > Hi, > > In regard to intradermal testing. Guest guest
, Guess your post is what I was looking for about the allergy shots being a continually pumping of Mycotoxcins into a person's body. Will think twice about the allergy testing but am at the end of my rope. My headaches are so bad and do so many things. Regards, H. Guest guest
I'm glad to hear this too as I wondered about this. I have read many times that washing sinuses on a daily bases can pretty much elimanate the need for allergy shots. headackes in the forehead area may be from sinus problems, you may want to have sinus ct scans done.and done while your suffering the headackes. I've found that extra strength exciderin can help sometimes. hope this helps. --- In , " Helen Woodward " <helen@...> wrote: > > , > Guess your post is what I was looking for about the allergy shots being a continually pumping of Mycotoxcins into a person's body.
