Theresa,

OMG, I wondered about how you were doing so often. You were the first

revision I knew of that had any problems so I followed your story closely. I

wondered if you even remembered talking to me on the phone that time.

I was so glad to hear they took your stomach. Lots of people have

gastrectomies and do fine later. My mother in law had one and would have live

normally but she had cancer and it returned. You have had a really rough time.

When I had my first glimpse of blue water in my drains I flat freaked but i was

lucky.

I am a year post op believe it or not and down 114.(still about 80ish

to go to get near 200) The scales are slow, and YES! I do think of extreme

makeover on a Daily basis....LOL. I hope you will be on more. So many people

with problems kind of float away, but I think both the good and the not so good

should be told. So many on support groups see the good and never the " problem

children " as tonnie called herself...LOL. I guess I was a minor problem child.

You know I have had so many bad stuff happen to me and looking back

the things that I riped about(car wreck, disability, ect... ended up helping me

with my biggest blessings(Medicare paid for surgery, Tom's seperation from

Delphi paid for travels,ect......) So despite it all, you will see a silver

lining...you might not now, but you will look back one day and see it and say

.... " if this hadn't happened..... "

Do I sound silly?

Marta:

Size 6! Excellent! Come on, Dr. Marla, if anyone should comment on

my craziness about the " Extreme Makeover Show " , I would think it

would be you.

Marla, did you have the pool party last summer. If so, I am sure it

was a great success.

And well the hell were you?! I am effed up right now, not to

disappiont anyone, but I have feelings, too. And they are hurting

right now. Did anyone notice how agonizing it is to be awakened

after being asleep in a dark cave for years?

Hi Theresa,

Of course I remember you!!! I'm so glad to hear that you're feeling better!

You've been in my prayers forever and of course I know what you meant by

cherished " .

Glad you hear you're feeling " normal " . I thought about extreme makeover,

the only problem is that they want something they can see results with in

6-8 weeks. For all the stuff I'd want done we'd need 6-8 MONTHS, so I gave

up.

I'm having my Tummy Tuck next month (Feb 18) and I'm looking forward to

looking down and seeing the " lil' miss " and not a bunch of fat/skin!

Take care and keep in touch!

THERESA!!!!!! What a complete delight to hear from you!

I have thought of you so many times and thought of how brave you have been

through such a terrible time. There were some very difficult moments when

you must have despaired of life itself. I know that I shed quite a few

tears as I prayed for your recovery. It brings me great joy to hear that

you continue your recovery.

Me... well, I am working more than full time. Gene and I are going through

an adoption homestudy because we have decided we might as well have some

devils to raise in our old age ;) I'm still a bit of a round girl, but I am

a functioning round girl!

Love you.... Elle *^_^*

Oh Marta,

Back in the real world we take chances, and that means we put

ourselves out there feelings and all. I am so sorry that you are

hurting right now... sweetie, it does get better...unfortunately you

have to kiss a lot of toads until you find that prince. He is out

there, dont let one bad experience stop you from trying again.

And STAY OUT OF THAT CAVE....it isnt healthy.

Just remember the fun, and KNOW that it can be even better than

that.

I'm glad your finally doing better and not constantly spending your

Hi Theresa,

Of course I remember you and your family. I am so glad to " hear "

from you again. And so relieved to hear how well you feel. I know

all our prayers are answered with this good news.

I am 2 years out now, and down 147 lbs and trying to live-it down 20

more lbs before my 49 th birthday in April. I am feeling great and

wearing a size med shirt and 14/16 pants. Size 12 dresses. It seems

like a miracle to me.

I hope to see you in March! take care and dont be a stranger,

Theresa,

I'm so glad to hear from you again! That's fantastic that you are

finally on the upswing. It's proof that miracles do happen. I am

still right on the cusp of 179/180lbs..but that's a lot better than

the 327lbs where I started and I'm pretty happy where I'm at right

now. I can wear size 14's and I'm starting to look more deeply into

PS as I want to have it done before August 2004 when I goto Sri Lanka

to visit my Grandparents. (I can feel Jo huffing to herself that I'm

finally writing an update for you when told me to update more last

time I was in Delano *grins*) I had one consult with a doctor in

Denver and I'm impressed with his work BUT he doesn't take insurance

of course, so I'm still debating the benefits. In the mean time, I

also want to send my pictures to Dr Fabio Zamprogno in Brazil as he's

certified with the Brazilian Board of Plastic Surgery and I need to

see if it's still significantly less with surgery, anesthesia,

travel, food & lodging and if I can get everything done in one trip

if I stay 3-4 weeks. I'd like to minimize my time off work..get

great results and hopefully not have to be paying off my PS for the

next 5 years if possible. I'm definitely my own Extreme Makeover

candidate as I want brachioplasty, breast lift, extended tummy tuck,

outer thigh lipo, butt lift, back lipo, body contouring, etc!

I'll post a current picture to the website soon as my work's Winter

Gala is this Saturday, so I have an excuse to take a picture.

As for you and your Extreme Makeover..well, you went through hell to

get to where you are today..I could see why you you'd want to

complete the process!

Love,

Anita in Denver

Marta,

Dating is hell whether you're 16 or 60! Is it the getting nekkid
