Guest guest
Dear Sandi, One never knows when you will begin to have signs of renal failure on these drugs we are taking. I am not the only one who has a problem, but I haven't seen anyone else say they were in acute renal failure. I'm glad the articles were helpful to you, and in researching, found these articles, and I think the paragraph you are referring to is: " The eGFR can be determined, with no extra testing, at the same time that a blood sample is sent for a creatinine measurement. The National Kidney Foundation (NKF) has recommended that it be calculated automatically every time a creatinine test is done. A creatinine test and eGFR may be ordered any time that a doctor wants to evaluate a person's kidney function as part of a health checkup or if kidney disease is suspected. " I was interested in that also, because sometimes when you see a doctor, they will tell you there is only one test and this information from the NKF would refute that. It can be done at the same time as other blood samples are drawn. Last night there was an endocrinologist on our public broadcast wherein they took calls. I was in the middle of changing my linens when I decided to turn on the TV and see if there was anything interesting while I was doing this and I accidently scrolled up to that station. I took down the number and gave a ficticious name when they answered. The line was busy, but I kept using my redial button until someone answered and the woman wanted to know how I found out about the show and I told her I was changing my bed. I thought that was so funny, but she asked for it. I didn't get my answer, we were cut off, as soon as the doctor started talking. It was about Vitamin D and even the station manager, announcer and doctor couldn't believe the interest that show had garnered. All of their phones lit up at once. It was about the different reasons we need Vitamin D. Most of the people were taking the little green pills, but some were buying it at their drug stores and he told each one what they should be doing. Well I didn't get my question answered, but the show caught my interest because of the subject. I frequently post messages about the benefits of Vitamin 2 & 3. In fact, I think I recently posted something on all of the D vitamins. As the reporter on TV says, " We report, you decide. " Readers can either overlook it or take action, whatever their pleasure.
