Guest guest
Sierra, Don't worry about losing your hair. The dosing of MTX for RA is not enough to cause hair loss. You didn't say how much your starting dose is or how you will take it. These things affect if or how bad the ,what I call yuckies, will be. Hopefully it will help you. Best wishes and God Bless, Jay > I was the one who asked about people's MTX experiences because I > suspected I might need to go on it. Guest guest
Methotrexate ususally comes in 2.5 mg tablets and usually you take three or more once a week (I take six). With your comment about reacting strongly to medications I suggest that you start out with only one a week and add more if you can tolerate the one. Of course, check with your rheumatologist before doing anything different from what you already discussed. Many people take their Methotrexate at night with a little food or crackers and then sleep through most of the brain fog. Also pick a day so that you can rest the following day if necessary. Many people also find that Methotrexate injections produce much less severe side effects compared to the oral. Methotrexate is the most commonly used treatment for RA and there is a lot of information about side effects. Good luck and God bless. ----- Original Message ----- From: snowdrift52003 Rheumatoid Arthritis Sent: Tuesday, April 20, 2004 6:26 PM Subject: MTX it is. Guest guest
Thank you for that very good suggestion! My doctor recommended that I take 4 of the 2.5 mg tabs to start. I've got time to think about it; I'm planning to take my first dose in two weeks, when my schedule lightens up considerably.
