Guest guest
Hi  A few weeks ago there was some activity on this topic and one email referenced a knee brace being used as an alternative to the surgery.  My Dad is 84 and had one knee replaced last year.  He swims and exercises 3 days a week (much better than I do) but really has had more trouble with the other " human " knee and does not feel he is up to another surgery.  So I am hoping to find a support brace that might reduce the pain and instability he is experiencing.  I would like to look into the brace that was high lighted if someone can help refresh my memory.  Thanks for your help! Guest guest
Hi  I have a knee problem which is probably going to need major reconstruction down the track and I don't know if you can get it in the states, but the brace I use is made by Elastoplast - Sport adjustable knee support. It has a hole for the knee cap and straps above and below the knee and then a patella support which straps behind the knee to the side to keep eveything supported and warm. My knee feels like it constantly is going to give way and I find this is extremely comfortable and easy to put on. My chiro was very impressed by it for it's ease of use and the support it gives.  Cheers in Oz From: Mr Stickel <stick924@...> Cc: Sent: Friday, 3 December, 2010 9:20:45 AM Subject: Re: [ ] Knee Replacment / Knee brace  Hi  A few weeks ago there was some activity on this topic and one email referenced a knee brace being used as an alternative to the surgery. Guest guest
Hi  I will look for the brand on line. I was in Ausralia for work about 10 years ago but Dad knees were better then.  Thanks very much for your reply and help!  From: phoenixpat <phoenixpat@...> Subject: [ ] Possible to remove post? Guest guest
Hi - you're welcome! Guest guest
If you click on to this site you will get the information on the Oactive knee brace that was mentioned in a previous post. http://newyork.cbslocal.com/2010/10/13/new-knee-brace-helps-arthritis-sufferers-\ avoid-surgery/ I also checked with my CML specialist, and he didn't see any problem with knee replacement surgery for me, but I am going to explore other options first. Guest guest
Thanks again - at the time I was working for Lucent and spent time with a couple of the Wireless Service providers Orange and others working on trying to improve their voice quality in their wireless networks. Virtually all my time was in Sydney. Guest guest
Hi all. I sent the message about the knee brace which insurance covers. To view it go to www.bionicare.com. it is called Oactive by Bionicare which has merged with VQOrthocare. You can go to wwww.orthocare.com or call toll free. VQ Orthocare is 800-266-6969. You can cll the Orthocare and ask a representative to send you all of the information on the Bionicare knee brace. I saw the report on CBS news. The report on CBS was that it was used for arthritis and to avoid knee surgery. They claim that it helps to rebuild cartiledge. Lottie tried looking for the CBS website to view it. Initially, she had problems, but did find it. However, it is easier to call the company and ask a representative in your area to send you the information.
