Guest guest
I don't know who is responsible for quoting something from CML Hope, but I found it refreshing to see another view. It was Lenda who posted this message: " I feel very blessed just to have an option of the oral drug verses what had to be tolerated before these drugs were discovered. They have come a long way in the last 11-12 years! Our life expectancy after diagnosis back then was only about five years! I'm happy to be alive and kickin still. " I agree with , even though I consider my self a whiner. Skip knows that better than anybody in these support groups. I hope you remember his story and his poetry about how every week when he went to the doctor, there was one less person, until he was the last one. That is why I said his poetry is from his heart, it is his life and it comes to full bloom in his poetry. He knows what endurance is and his heart has never become hardened over it. He is as pleasant and kind as he ever was, still loves life and his family, and is still happy to be alive. I don't think any doctor has ever found an explanation for his survival, but I think it is partially because of the way he views life. Greg s uses the slogan " Here for a purpose " on his website and emails, but I think it points directly to Skip. I think his purpose is to be an example of how to live. I think all he expects is to be loved and redeemed by God. He has had to cut back on his activities because he has no platelets and no immune system, but he doesn't gripe about the hand he has been dealt and he has never given up, even when the doctor wanted to put him in pallative care. His history is one we can all look forward to for ourselves, to live well and be happy with all the malcontent that is around us. Carpe Diem, Lottie Duthu P. S. The Bible verse " Weeping may endure for a night, but joy cometh in the morning " comes from Psalms 30:5. This verse is usually taken to mean literally what it says: that " this too shall pass " , and to have hope for a brighter morning.
